Jim, I’d say Moyes is still living off his Everton record rather than anywhere else. I think the Utd job did nothing but harm to his reputation. There’s no doubt his confidence took a massive hit, as did his influence amongst players when he went from the main man at Everton and someone who did a lot with very little resources to Utd. He had no right to be even around the CL places with the net budget he worked with at Everton.
He went from that to following possibly the most successful manager ever, the impossible job in my opinion. All of a sudden he’s managing serial winners, something he hasn’t been himself. I think that job absolutely killed the way other players respond to his methods. I still think if he can find the right club, he can do what he did at Everton and really build them up over time.

Moyes is a strange choice for West Ham and I think the fans have every reason to be a bit concerned. It’s quite often the case when clubs struggle that they turn to experienced PL managers like Moyes, Allardyce, Pulis etc. They’ll be back in for a young manager from Europe as soon as their safety is secured though.
Looks as though Paul Clement is the favourite to be sacked next.

Oops, sorry Banjo/Chucky! I clearly didn’t look closely enough! The gap is tightening though…

Brian, I wasn’t aware that was an issue so thanks for letting me know. I’ll look at it and should have it fixed by the end of the week. Apologies for the inconvenience

Sadly, this case I think will only strengthen the beliefs of those who unconditionally believe in their right to bear arms. The Americans will point to the fact that a vigilante resident chased off the gunman thus preventing further deaths. I can’t see it ever changing

Jim, as much as it pains me to see City playing such good football and seemingly running away with the league, I wouldn’t begrudge a single City fan like yourself the joy you must be feeling right now under Pep. Certainly not any of you who have been there through the ups and downs. It’s what football is all about.

FYI I’ve given @newbalance a “break” from the site, initially for a day or two as I didn’t like his last post on the previous page. Now onto the International break where I hope we can see NB posting again as I know he’s a passionate England fan. Enjoy the rest of your evening NB and I’ll send you an email tomorrow

@newbalance Please email me if you want to discuss it further. I won’t be replying tonight but I’ll get back to you tomorrow. I don’t want any more posts on the forum about it.

@newbalance, I see nothing from 999 to justify your post at 7:48 tonight. As Jim suggested, chill! It’s nothing more than a kind word for the moment but I would like you to refrain from attacking other posters on here.
There’s a decent bunch of posters on here and I’ve yet to have to delete a post or block anyone (apart from obvious wind-up merchants.) Let’s try to keep it that way. Feel free to email me if you take issue with any poster going forward.
Now back to the football. Good win for Liverpool NB. Every reason to be positive going into the International break.

Agree on Mhiki. He was poor after first joining then really started to grow into the role. He’s really regressed again now. Utd really lack that game changer that league winning sides need. Hazard, Aguero, Kane, De Bruyne etc. You don’t win leagues without a standout game changer and I’m looking around that Utd side trying to find one and struggling.
The better side won today and our disastrous record against Chelsea continues. It was a massive over reaction 9 to recent results at Chelsea and I didn’t for a minute expect anything more than a point for Utd. It’ll be Utd’s turn now to face an over reaction similar to the one Chelsea faced.
Congrats to Chelsea!

Should be 1-1 already. Rashford should be scoring that and Morata unlucky there to have his disallowed

My bad explanation Sean. I know we didn’t go at Chelsea last season, as such. I just meant they picked us off last season in a game where the share of the ball and the share of the chances was pretty even.

I think pretty much everyone would be happy with a draw 9, including the other sides in and around the top of the table. I’d love us to go there and really have a go at Chelsea but I just can’t see it and I think we’d be picked off like we were last season. May the best team win anyway!

Well Kante starts for Chelsea and Pogba not even on the bench. Big boost for Chelsea on both counts. I appreciate Pogba was poor there last season but there’s no doubt Utd have been far stronger this season with Pogba on the pitch. City Arsenal game going entirely as expected. Arsenal just don’t win these kind of games

I can’t see it Sean. Utd have a dreadful record against Chelsea. Liverpool’s defence was there to be got at and Utd offered very little going forward so I can’t see Mourinho springing a surprise today. He’ll be happy with a point at Stamford Bridge. I’d be pretty happy with a point there too. Very few teams will go there and get a win.
Seeing Pogba getting on the pitch could give Utd the boost they need though to get something. It wasn’t until he got injured that we started playing worse.

5th November 2017 at 8:04 am in reply to: World Class players.Who then leave and look distinctly average? #7112Yeah Bonucci is a funny one. Always looked a world beater at Juve but has really not maintained that at Milan.
Pogba has looked great in flashes but needs to find his feet to reach the level he set at Juve. When England played France, he made the England players look like schoolboys so there’s no question around his talent. He needs to start having more influence on the big games for Utd though.

Liverpool silenced a lot of doubters yesterday and probably ended any hopes Bilic had of keeping his job. I really thought they’d drop points yesterday against West Ham but they looked quite convincing in the end.
Two big games today. Arsenal just don’t win games like this one and Mourinho will probably go into this one hoping for a draw. I think we’ll see Chelsea find some form again today as this is a game they’re always up for.

I quite like Southgate’s choices. It makes a refreshing change. It’ll be interesting to see how these players get on anyway. Abraham is an interesting prospect and it will be good to see him get a game.
Like you 9,I’d be taking Sturridge next year. There’s no denying he’s not the player he was 2/3 years ago but he still shows flashes of brilliance. For me, I’d put him on a par with Kane as a goal threat when he’s on form.
