Not sure Sean, you can’t tell unless you have a camera directly above it. It was given out for a similar situation earlier this season though, so you would expect some consistency.

Wasn’t just the ball being out of play

It was Joelington pushing the Arsenal player and the ball coming off his arm, ending in Gordons path to score.

The Gordon was also offside from the looks of things.

You had 4 incidents and any other side, the goal would have been ruled out.

Didn’t Newcastle get a dubious decision last weekend against Wolves too?

Just watching match of the day lads. One angle looks like ball is in and another looks out. It’s a foul though. Clearly two hands on his back.

Just saw sheff utd pen aswell. Ridiculous decision. Two vet similar decisions gone againest wolves in two weeks. They should feel really aggrieved

Just far to inconsistent. Ruining the game.
Why don’t the pl have the offside technology used in the cl? Decision is made in seconds and also don’t they have tech that can see if ball in or out?

Thr ball going out cannot be judged from what we saw, so to me that is not a clear and obvious mistake to rectify. Keys and Gray put up a graphic showing it was actually still in, see screenshot.

Apparently they couldn’t judge the offside because they couldn’t get a decent view of when the ball was touched on, so they had no choice but to go with the on field decision.

The foul they said not nough evidence to indicate a clear and obvious mistake to change the on field decision. To me this was the biggest balls up as how you cannot think someone pushing some else out of the way with two hands isn’t a foul is crazy.

The handball I think was completely missed. Probably flapping so much about everything else they didn’t even look at it.

Arsenal should demand that the audio is released to the benefit of every club. Oh and ask for a replay that really winds people up! 😃

I said at the time if City’s was a penalty then there should be several penalties per game for similar offences.

I’m never one to go down conspiracy routes but PGMOL should ban refs taking payments elsewhere. Even if its completely innocent whenever something like this happens it brings the refs intergrity and the game into disrepute.

No it doesn’t. You have to take the full diameter of the ball in a view from above which sadly there is no camera to do so. Its not the ball contact area versus the line. That looks in to me.
