Chuky, I am not offended, as you say this is a forum and everybody has a say and a right to repond. As far as City goes, I said we needed two full backs who could defend, it is true we have no natural full backs but we could one of two things, bring on 1/2 of the promising younger players or, yes, do go out and buy but it need not be a mega buy as you are eluding to, anyway, before this gets too protracted, have a good New Year and lets see what happens

Chucky, I can assure you the Utd fans are well and truly beyond caring about City any more! It’s all about building our club back up again to be able to challenge again at some point in the future. Money is great but Utd have to learn how to spend it wisely again and bring more young kids through like we’ve always done. I’m quite enjoying this title race despite Utd being nothing more than an observer.

Course I do what? Enjoy the title race? Think what you like but I’m a football fan first and a Utd fan second. This is one of the best title races we’ve had in recent years and it’s very entertaining to watch for the neutral (which Utd fans very much are at the moment). I’ve seen my club win everything there is to win, multiple times. So, if we’re stuck fighting for relegation every season from now on, so be it. This idea that Man Utd fans are foaming at the mouth because we’ve gone a season without winning a trophy is flattering but so far off the mark!

Given the choice, I’d prefer to not see Liverpool winning things but in all honesty, the minute my own team stop being a contender to win something is the moment I switch to being a football fan and enjoying watching it. The whole idea of grown men arguing over other grown men playing a sport or hating a team or a group of fans because of what team they support is something I find a bit odd but each to their own

Historically, City have been completely irrelevant to Utd so there isn’t the same dislike there that there is for say, Spurs fans for Arsenal or Everton fans for Liverpool etc so I don’t begrudge them their moment in the limelight one bit.

Those who have not got it, wish they had it
Thos that have it and do not spend it enjoy something else
Money is the root of problems in football, but it is here to stay for some time until a new game structure takes over and then it will be worse than it is now.
Real fans are becoming a rareity. Ed mentioned he was a football fan first and Utd fan second…that is the way I look at it as well… I have never understood tribal football which leads to more violence or abuse.
In some ways, I am guilty as well, I bought one of my grandchildren a City “bob hat” and only 6 months old!!! How stupid can you get?Enjoy the week end games
