Wow some really bizarre comments on here. I really never get why city fans can not just enjoy their success. Adlab always moans about something. I don’t begrudge their success one bit. Really tough times in the past in league 1etc. Just enjoy it and bizarre comment that utds titles are tainted more then cities?

I glanced at a report on Pep and how the titles won belong to City.
If the genie is let out of the bottle, if anything the complexities of every other team impacted is pure spaghetti tangles. Those players on the pitch were bought, but was it fair one might question. Anyway from a personal point of view, I already mentioned, I’m not bothered about retro titles; it’s done and it’s history.
But something severe most definitely if found guilty going forward. No fine, but something like expulsion or a heavy points deduction to send out a clear message of the penalties faced.

Nil, it will come down to which and how many of the charges stand up to scrutiny. For example, Its one thing knowing they very likely were fraudulent regards commercial revenue but proving it is another, if it weren’t for the leaked emails I dont think it could be proven.

Blueson, absolute nonsense to compare City’s spending and alleged cheating to what Utd did under Ferguson.
Ferguson took over a club who had a net spend of minus £1.5mil in the 5 years preceding his appointment and £14mil total in the 5 years post his appointment (both Spurs and Liverpool spent more during this period). Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, Spurs and even Man City outspent Utd massively during the period 92-98.
Again, this deflecting everything that ever comes at City and somehow finding a way to blame either Liverpool, Utd or Chelsea is just bizarre.

Discussions on Sky this morning suggested the charges are less about FFP and more about fraud?
City fans trying to defend their Club is understandable but attacking other Clubs that haven’t been charged with anything related to the City charges nullifies any defence.

Never been a fan of FFP, if a club has the finances available they should be free to spend it however they wish too, it’s almost reminiscent of a communist state, ” you will spend how much we tell you too otherwise it’s off to jail with you “. Very autocratic state of affairs.”

Nine, I cant see it being proven in terms of a civil case, UEFA gave approval for the sponsorship with etihad at the time for example, and while we all know clearly that the money from Etihad was money from the owner, proving it at the level it would need to be proven is unlikely. The consequences of finding them guilty are so high it won’t happen imo.
