Alfie, I think you could add an additional line that UEFA stipulates all evidence cannot come from an illegal source (Rui Pinto etc), the PL does not.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire speaking to Sky Sports News:
“The main difference between the Premier League and UEFA is UEFA have a statute of limitations, which limits the availability of evidence to five years. The Premier League does not have that.
“UEFA have rules in regards to where evidence comes from and it can’t come from illegal sources. If you take a look at the Premier League handbook, it states that the source of data and evidence is an irrelevance as far as they are concerned, although this might form part of Man City’s defence that some of the evidence which is going to be provided by the Premier League has come from inappropriate sources and there is a lack of credibility with that evidence.
“I suspect some of the evidence that is going to be put forward by the Premier League to the independent commission has ultimately come from the Football Leaks, Der Spiegel and the Portuguese hacker because that was quite comprehensive.
“It was part of the overall strategy of the Premier League gathering together evidence, especially when they felt it couldn’t necessarily be obtained from the football club itself.”

I have no doubt whatsoever that we City will win our case in 5 years time against a corrupt dictatorship who are only interested in their overly huge pay packets at the end of each month plus so many hidden deals. The very worse that would happen is a fine and a rap over the knuckles otherwise they will also be exposed. Mark my words you will see.

It’s a tough time for City fans currently and I can understand they are looking to take a more positive outlook on what might happen.
I can appreciate why some City fans might want to stay away from the subject which is likely to be in the news for quite some time, the most logical thing maybe for them is to ignore threads on this subject rather than get caught up in deep discussions on the subject.
I think it would be a shame if any City fans stopped posting on here because City have been charged by the PL which is understandably going to get discussed on here as they are an important part of the site imo.

My view from being a years long city fan remembering being two divisions down is what these owners have football wise given us.. I’m a strong believer a lot of clubs have to have creative accounting to pay the players wages and transfer fees without pointing the finger at anyone…are the strange new long contracts a sign of this… I’m enjoying it while it lasts …sticks and stones and media I couldn’t care less about ..water off a ducks back to me…looking forward to the summer transfer window !!!!

City boy, you and adlab are clutching at straws pointing at Chelsea and drawing comparisons.
Offering an extended contract that is fully disclosed and fully understood by all to reduce annual cost of fee is not even remotely close to setting up bogus sponsorships that were chiefly funded by city owners not the companies listed to the tune of billions.
One is open and transparent, the other is deliberately deceptive.

Look, is it fair that the ladder is pulled up with FFP just after chelsea received all their investment direct from roman? No, I don’t think FFP is fair.
But this is besides the bloody point as when it is agreed all clubs should abide it. Everton are fighting relegation, their owners have money but cant spend it due to FFP, if they set up a bogus sponsorship with affiliated company to get around this and evidence was presented to PL all the other clubs would seek charges on Everton too.

Which evil corrupt dictatorship are you referring too, Blueson? The one that controls their country by fear of torture, document human rights abuses and built on slavery? Or the one that is trying to keep some resemblance of fairness to our national pastime?
Anyway, nobody doubts they’ll get away with it, people with morals like that will simply throw money at the problem until it goes away and pass on some cleverly worded press release claiming their vindication and allow thier “fans” (that would be you!) to do their work for them… of course, this doesn’t help me unsee or unhear what I’ve seen and heard…

Man United won their titles for 20 years because they had a huge financial advantage over the rest of the division. If their fans claim the sentiment of other clubs was any different they are deluded, they were the only big money players in the country, their titles were way more tainted than City’s could ever be.
