Yes 2 or 3 at a push I thought they were highly likely to be a goal.

I think everyone has said Liverpool were wasteful in the final 3rd, but still 9 shots on target, and therefore 7 saves, is a lot.

Atletico’s Shots on target to attempts was impressive 10 shots, 6 on target and 2 goals. Despite being so solid defensively they were impressive with the efficiency of their attempts too.

I think almost any other team would have succumbed to the pressure Liverpool put them under last night but Atletico are amazingly well drilled and well organised defensively and incredibly difficult to break down and they then have one of the world best Goalkeepers and offensively players of quality capable of taking chances. Nobody will want to draw them.

Atletico were the worst team for Liverpool to draw they like teams to come on to them and then hit them with their pace and Atletico were never going to play that way much to Klopp’s frustration.

Amz-Must have watched a different game pal,but Oblak had an outstanding night last night.Because he is so good he makes everything seem so easy,like Buffon did it during his career,like Neuer has done it.Anybody else on goal for Atleti and they would have had a cple more goals.

I really enjoy watching that Felix chap play,he has an brilliant career ahead of himself.Liverpools defence couldnt handle him,especially Gomez struggled all night.

Mav – my point is that the shots he faced wasn’t heading for the corners, maybe other than Ox’s 25 yard drive. He didn’t face any 1v1s either. All the shots he faced was nearer towards him than the corners of the goal.

Liverpool need to add a top class forward and not sell any of them. If they sell, they must get 2. If I spoke about our front 3 in any meaningful way, people would ask me why I’m so negative or ask me to go easy, or say that I’m fickle and reactionary.

The performances from our front 3 have been dire ever since the break. They are too comfortable. They know they will start week in and week out, no matter what and this is what happens from that kind of setup.

I’m still really disappointed to see us out last night. I think i care more about the Cl than most Liverpool fans and that’s all fine, right? I have considered the PL over for so long now and whether everyone agrees with me or not, that is also ok right? we’re all a bit different in our priorities.

For me though, our season is over and by that i don’t mean “IT’S FUCKED NOW”, I mean that we have nothing to play for already… not that there will be matches , I guess… but maybe you see now why i changed my tune on the FA Cup. I pretty much called this scenario and it’s come true.

anyway I know this reads like a rant, apologies.. I just wanted to add some more to my thoughts last night. I was quite drunk and I assume I wasn’t entirely clear. I do feel the same about it though. Im just gutted to be out.

Kingo, I honestly had no problem at all with the ref. That’s not me saying he was good but I didn’t notice any issues.. well, I don’t remember any stand out problems anyway.

I think the ref in the previous game was a disgrace. He fell for all Atletico’s nonsense, which only made them try more and more and more. I don’t think AM were full tilt toxic or anything yesterday but they did ham it up here and there. They did stick the leg in a few times but nothing too crazy, that I saw.

anyway mate, we’re out now. I guess we’ve got to hope they don’t just void the league now. There will be an asterix next to our title this year but we’re so far ahead that everyone knows there really isn’t. I kinda don;’t care tbh , except I’d love to have seen us smash the PL points record, which we would have done ,had we a team breathing down our necks, or even close at all… anyway.. PL champions etc

Mak…Liverpool have won the league there can be no arguments about that even if they make season void, which I doubt they will. As to AM do you not think there is too much over analysis in the post morten ? The only thing Liverpool should have done was to finish the game in 90 minutes, for that you need some guile as well as Fast forwards, that being the case the keeper would have been blameless as well and would not have made his mistake. Game over, finish the season well, except at the Etihad perhaps!!! Although we have a keeper who needs to be sharper!!! I reckon he has costs us 3 games this season

Thanks Brian, that’s very classy of you. I don’t expect this to be the general take on it but it’s always nice to see that some can take a step back.

I can’t remember everything that I’ve said and as for others, it all depends but I will say that a lot of my own expressed feelings (not all) were thoughts that I had lingering or had even spoken of, before the match. So, it’s not just about a reaction to 90 minutes of football. You do have a point though, if Liverpool just finished better they would have buried AM. I don’t like to mjust say that so simply because they did pretty good in defence but we created many opportunities. We are not traditionally a possession based team, so we were just going for the kill for massive spells, however it’s like we just didn’t have the teeth. Our creative process up until that point, along with our counter-pressing and drive were all on point. The finishing wasnt there and we all know that Alisson does better in goal but.. Adrian wasn’t missing or half hitting those chances. I’ve seen some of the things people have been leaving on his social media accounts (i think Instagram) and although I think he cost us big time, people who will tell him to F off or to leave the club etc… that’s just disgusting. I may criticise players a little here or there but its to us, not to the player where he will probably read (like the high voted slurs that are there now)… screw those kinds.

I do feel a bit bad for adrian as the biggest game of his life is now a disaster. It’s a bit like Karius but I never rated Karius. I saw some good play in adrian.

I’m going on here but ya Brian, I told my friend after the 90 ended that we’d be more tired than AM. we had the ball but we were really working to make it happen. It’s not quite the scenario where the team without possession is usually tired. I knew we would dip in OT but when we scored, I kinda forgot about it… was reminded 2-3 mins later.

As for the Etihad, we’ll never see that game man and I doubt we’ll see the Everton one TBH. We’ve played our last PL matches this season i think. I hope Im wrong, of course. As for Ederson, I’ve no idea what’s happened with him. I remember him being bloody amazing before.
