Just on a slight divergence. Thought our womens team did well in their first Olympics game winning 2-0.

Just sitting down watching the opening ceremony on BBC. Classic woke BBC presentation team. 3 women, one black one who is LGBT and another plus one bloke.

Cant decide whether the Olympics will be worth watching in current no crowd circumstances?
The football was bad enough without fans but at least there was some bias watching.

Events with limited personal impact? I wonder if one will continue to watch?

Delighted with the Sancho signing. It’s probably our most exciting signing since Pogba came back. No guarantee of him being a success but there’s every chance he will be.

Price looks very good too considering the fees being bandied about for Grealish, Kane, Haaland & co.

That right hand side has been a problem position for Utd for years. He showed for Dortmund that he’s capable of playing on both wings but the hope is that he can make that right wing his own.

Chucky, this Cristian Romero guy at CB looks very promising. Looks like Spurs have agreed terms with him now. He was awarded the best defender in Serie A last season which is pretty big considering the likes of Koulibaly, Chiellini & co play there. I was hoping Utd may go in for him but looks like he’s on his way to Spurs.

Ed, good summary on Sancho and a decent price too the way prices seem to be going and I suspect a very good signing which will make United stronger.

Varane and a defensive midfielder and United will be good to go as genuine title contenders imo.

Adlab, yeah I saw a bit of the Olympic opening ceremony and the waving to a non existent crowd seemed a weird but what else could they do.

I feel sorry for all the athlete’s they’ve given so much of themselves over so many years to get to the Olympics and it turns out like it is.

But everyone has to try and make the best of it now.

Yeah Nine, midfield is really where the big games are won and lost and that’s easily Utd’s weakest area of the pitch still. Looking increasingly likely that Pogba will be going. Even with Pogba, we were short of probably 1 top central midfielder. With Pogba looking likely to go, I fear that’s the area which will see us struggle to maintain a challenge but you can’t build a side to challenge a team like City overnight.

Assuming we get a CB in and Pogba goes, we’re probably still 2 midfielders short of a challenge.

Adlab,,,stop depressing me!!!!!…I never wanted Kane from the start now it looks like he is coming but my feeling it will not be 160 million. We may get two seasons out of him. I believe Harland deal was not on because of the agent he has, but he is the right age bracket we should be looking at. It will be interesting to see what Mr Levy does with his pot of gold, will Nuno get 10% of it?? I am a bit sad about this news, I think we could have done better for less

Sweedy, all the imminent new Spuds sound good on paper but, as we all know, that don’t mean a thing. However, Lamala for Gil, and maybe Sanchez for the Argie-Bargie lad, doesn’t feel like we’re weakening the squad at all and if they’re half as good as they’re cracked up to be, could both be very sweat deals.
