8th July 2026 at 9:01 pm #250018Not sure about the back lash that’s led to voicing conspiracy. It’s actually eye-opening as we don’t often see this type of reaction from our Prem Matches week in week out.
Not so much being sandwiched, but thought Martinez was fouled leading up to Egypt’s second goal.
Personally, I felt Argentina were out of their depth and other individual players needed to step up. Maybe it felt like a ‘helping hand’ from the officials, maybe a coincidence. I have seen Prem Matches of loads pan out when a Team’s 2 goals up. All of a sudden really late on, the Tide dramatically changes.

8th July 2026 at 9:02 pm #250019Gosh, who decided not to schedule any matches for Today altogether?! Does feel like the first ‘Day Off’ since the Tournament started like 3 weeks or so ago.

8th July 2026 at 9:06 pm #250021Great to Remember Individual Players far down back whenever there is a World Cup.
This Tournament has had a bit of a USA 1994 aura about it π

8th July 2026 at 9:23 pm #250022The thing is NIL we have already seen referees and official being banned from performing, who is stepping up in those cases? Then we Trump asking for a red card to be rescinded and it is given, we got Messi covering his mouth in his first game and he should have been sent off, we got Ronaldo who should have served a 2-3 game ban to start with. Ad breaks on top of that, Infantino lying to every football fan in every interview. I canΒ΄t respect this marketing cup at all, IΒ΄ve barely watched it, maybe 5 full games if that.

8th July 2026 at 9:34 pm #250023Bingo, totally resonate with that. This is the environment we are consumed in sadly; Goldfish Bowl effect; Scrutiny here there and everywhere, anybody easily filmed for just breathing air and of course mate as you rightly point out: External Influences that are Unnecessary.
Takes away the Enjoyment, and the organic experience of the game right?
Dollars $$$ and Stakes in this Day and Age.

9th July 2026 at 9:18 pm #250080This French team is really fucking good. Tenacious, talented, aggressive and ridiculously hard working. Canβt see anyone beating them.

10th July 2026 at 5:42 pm #250121Shearer, Lineker, Big Meeks all swearing bloody murder at the officiating in the Egypt-Argentina game. Clear as day the refs conspired against Egypt to send Argentina through. Any talk of coincidence is either naive or racist. It’s the same in boxing too, bigger the name more favourable the decision, and there’s no bigger name in world football than Messi who also happens to play in the States.
As for Seedorf, Rooney didn’t hesitate for a second when saying he was the best player he ever played against. I remember watching him as a kid and it felt like I was watching a video game he was that good.
JM, I was a kid working reception at a private hospital in London when George Best was dying on the ward there. Addiction and Alcoholism has ruined many a life, but it does hit even harder when they were so special and gave such joy to so many.
As an aside, since we are talking midfielders, Keane has repeatedly said he was not talented at all, not technical etc… do you think that’s accurate or is he being modest?_____________________________

10th July 2026 at 6:50 pm #250129Seedof went under the radar in the 90s because the media loved Davids. Didn’t he get a drugs ban?

10th July 2026 at 7:35 pm #250130No mate, Keane was above Scholes, Beckham, Veron and everyone he partnered in midfield with. IΒ΄m with Gerrard on this that he is the best midfielder in the league for the last 30 years at least. He was not just a hard man, he could pass and score goals when needed. Also probably the only one in that squad I would share a beer with. Just watch a game from back from when he was playing and tell me if he is not dominating the field in every dual, players were scared of going in on him, he had that much aura. If I had my pick of Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes I would pick Keane in midfield with Seedorf. IΒ΄m trying to remember another midfielder as dominant in every aspect but I canΒ΄t. We got Xavi and Iniesta, Modric and Zidane. Then of course Jay-Jay Okacha so good they named him twice. I actually think Sammer and Mattheus were on the same level back in the day.

10th July 2026 at 8:15 pm #250132Roy Keane is the greatest all round midfielder in my lifetime bob. Hard as fuck, incredibly talented in every department and the greatest winning mentality of any player Iβve ever known.

10th July 2026 at 9:10 pm #250139Liked the 1994 Rep Of Ireland Team with Keane back in the day. Bryan Robson one of my all time United faves as well as him being England Captain.

10th July 2026 at 9:13 pm #250140They donβt make them like Roy Keane anymore .. he never gassed himself up and still doesnβt gass himself but he was Rock solid and his technical game was underrated.
@Bingo good shoutout for Jay-Jay Okocha; the things he could do with the ball were pure magic.

10th July 2026 at 9:20 pm #250141see, that’s what I remember as well lads. but he was just so adamant that he wasn’t very good technically I started to wonder if my memories were playing tricks on me. tbh he’s my favourite ever united player and I just love him as a pundit as well. he’s also incredibly funny.
regarding the World Cup, if France win it, and I’ll be shocked if they don’t, that’ll be 3 World Cup finals in a row and 2 wins. where would you guys who remember the great Brazil teams of pele and Ronaldo place this particular team all time? and would you put them ahead of that great Spanish team of 2010?_____________________________
