Rob I hope our next transfer will be as good of a surprise as mine today, I just bought a small boat here in Spain today. Trailer and the whole package, the bloody engine only needs service, new spark plugs, new battery etc. I thought the boat would do maybe 25-30 miles on a good day, it does 50! It´s actually a former James Bond boat lol. Can you guess the model? BTW I got a boat for sale in Spain if anyone is interested! It´s also for rent and requires no license. So you can actually kill yourself on it. 50 MILES per hour! I can get that up to 70 miles with a bigger motor, just to make sure some accidents happen!

31st May 2026 at 8:12 pm #247724Thats right, there is just one problem with the boat, the windshield got smashed or lost somewhere. I got both the chrome lists so maybe it´s a easy job here in Spain. 50 miles, I can´t believe it… Friends of mine in Iceland are building this monster powerboat around 15 meters with over 1000 horsepower and that one goes 75-80 miles. Some uncles of mine also had a rib boat with over 1600 horsepower and they could not go over 80 actually. They could push the engine a bit further but they would have broken their backs basically. This is like a oversized jet boat almost.

1st June 2026 at 11:00 am #247759“Apologies in advance if it wasn’t you but I’m sure to buggary it was.”
You’re wrong again as usual Rob, I NEVER championed Alonso’s win rate at Real Madrid, never.

1st June 2026 at 11:14 am #247760Environment. Structure. Planning. High quality isololated and integrated training. A team ID,
Cherki had this at City.
Some people will never get it Rob.
Actually some people like myself, get it 100%.
Simple question for you, Rob and Ginger, be totally objective in your answers.
On which planet is it acceptable to pay way over the odds for a player, for example £125m for Isak, yet the going rate for strikers was £60m to £80m – yet Isak has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to justify a £45m premium. Or £116m for Wirtz, yet other playmakers were going for around £60m, e.g. Cherki at £34m or Eze at £67m – Is Wirtz really £50m worth more than Eze, for example?
And to illustrate the magnitude of Richard Hughes’ blunders, when we bought the biggest gamechangers at Liverpool, we paid market price, most notably with Mané, Salah and Díaz. And while we broke the world record for Van Dijk and Alisson, they had the proven talent, for example I would have no problem paying £100m for the ELITE strikers like Haaland, Kane or Mbappe, who deliver consistently.
So I ask one more time, why pay ridiculous, exorbitant prices for players who are clearly NOT worth that price.

1st June 2026 at 11:22 am #247764To illustrate my point about Hughes spending money like a drunken sailor:
Arsenal spent a total of £254m on 10 players last summer, they spent very cleverly, cementing SQUAD DEPTH in every position, and that’s why they won the league, regardless of how much they and their style of football are hated.
Meanwhile, Liverpool emotionally broke the transfer record TWICE and spent £230m on just two players, Isak and Wirtz, none of whom even set the league alight. And their failures had nothing to do with Slot either.
If I was FSG, I would be asking Richard Huighes some serious questions about this idiocy.

1st June 2026 at 11:41 am #247770I’ve answered these questions or very similar questions multiple times over the last few months.
You either ignore them or just don’t understand.
I’m not wasting any more of my time answering them again.
The world doesn’t exist in a binary.
The transfer market isn’t a supermarket.

1st June 2026 at 1:15 pm #247780Same here, went at length a few weeks ago and once or twice before with my views on the record signings and many times recently why it’s hasn’t clicked for many.
Not going back to copy and paste.

1st June 2026 at 1:53 pm #247782As I said above “for example I would have no problem paying £100m for the ELITE strikers like Haaland, Kane or Mbappe, who deliver consistently.”
To illustrate this point.
The lowest Haaland has scored in 4 seasons at City is 34 goals, the highest is 52 goals.
For Mbappé, the lowest goals he’s scored in 9 Seasons is 30 goals, the highest is 59 goals.
And Harry Kane, the lowest he’s scored in 12 seasons is 24 goals, the highest is 61 goals.Isak, on the other hand, the HIGHEST amount he’s ever scored in one season in is just 27 goals,
basically HALF the maximum of what the above ELITE strikers have scored. So WTF did he cost £125m?
Put it this way, no other club would have been foolish enough to pay such a stupid price for him.

My actions immediately after reading that last post.

1st June 2026 at 5:54 pm #247823Song, I didn’t say you ‘championed’ I said you disparaged his Madrid tenure for getting fired after half a season. Partial paradox there but you get my drift.
No mention of Leverkusen so my apologies there (for what it’s worth).

1st June 2026 at 6:09 pm #247830Have to wait and see, Bingo. That name came as a surprise to me, though will have to see what Maresca’s plans are. Kovacic or Rodri more likely either this coming season or the season after depending on their contract sitation.

1st June 2026 at 11:18 pm #247852Ok, with Slot finally out (again, thanks for the title), this is my preferred window right now:
Manager/coach whatever it’s called: Enrique/Iraola + Thiago as ass
Gk: same as this year. If for some reason it doesn’t work out – get Trafford from city. Or Meslier as cover on a free.
Rb: kayode in, ramsay out
Cb: senesi for free, gomez likely out. Schlotterbeck in
Lb: let’s live with kostas coming back. He’ll be great for dressing room and good cover. He remembers heavy metal.
Dm: invest! Camara/Stiller
Cm: endo out. macallister out if we can get paid properly. Would love to keep Jones. Not sure we can prio Wharton?
Rw: Diomande, keep Elliott for depth. Would be great to snap up bowen on the cheap, but doubt he will be. Chiesa out.
Lw: barcola (but not completely sold on him). Gakpo out.
Strikers: no change unless Lewandowski would like to join on the cheap for one last dance_____________________________

1st June 2026 at 11:27 pm #247853Actually also liked Okafor of Leeds – could be a better backup to Rio than Gakpo without spending big.

2nd June 2026 at 1:06 am #247855Read on teamtalk that diomande could cost around the €150mill mark… thats waaayyyy too much for 1 player. Deffo with all the areas we need to fix.
Obviously i was in the camp of giving slot another season… with all the injuries and issues. Buttt one thing i wont miss is not utilising the whole sqaud and youth setup… which slot really messed up on.
Is iraola gonna be similar to slot in that aspect or does he love giving youth a chance ala klopp? Are we gonna see a revival for bajcetic, or break out seasons for danns, nyoni, abe and even calvin ramsay? Cus that would help solve a lot of our problems!
@macattack i would get shot of curtis asap, he needs to go out to a team and not have the pressure on him… just doesnt take responsibility and has nothing in his locker besides turning and passing it back. Same with harvey “no legs” elliot… we complain about macalister getting bypassed easily dont get me started on harvey!_____________________________
