27th August 2026 at 12:36 pm #254573Barcola has clocked up 36km an hour, which is faster than Elanga and you all saw how his pace can destroy defenders in our last game. Based on his average minutes and output he will be giving us around 20-25 goals plus a 5-10 assists as well. We will actually have a complete attack against Ipswich.

27th August 2026 at 12:37 pm #254574Im hoping for Camara myself Threeps.
Have only seen him a handful of times and liked what I saw.
How this translates to the Prem remains to be seen.
Likes to sit but can drive on also.
Isnt an out and out “destroyer” type no6, hes also a very proficient passer.
Lots of energy, very mobile, has defensive instincts, like to play in a double pivot.Monaco are now close to signing midfielder Erik Lira however they need move on a non EU player.
Could this be Camara?
Bouaddi has just joined City though._____________________________

27th August 2026 at 12:48 pm #2545783ps I think it´s very fair to expect a bounce of 15 points by appointing Iraola, both the new managerial bounce with new ideas and the fact we played like shit last season, then a forward like Barcola can add 5-7 points to that. A defender like Araujo can add about 2-3 points. These lesser targets for the wing I don´t expect anything from them but if we get that defensive midfielder in we can expect another 2-3 points. I don´t wanna put this down as absolute truth about how our season will go until the window closes. All I know it might be a fun season for us.

Rubbish, Slot is a first-time Premier League winner, and an Erdevisie champion also.
What has Iraola ever won, name me even just one trophy? So until Iraola wins the league, Slot will always be the much greater manager.
And signing of the summer, so far, is either Muñoz or Jacquet.

27th August 2026 at 1:38 pm #2545883p’s, its was never anything what you driven on here re Barcola, but it was the frustration and the back and fourth from what took place that drove me nuts.
Seemed a pretty hard bargain but we have reached a resolution.
I just wish the whole process was more swift and straight-forward.
Anyway, we move on. Hopefully, we can shift one or two, but not to the point where we fall completely short on numbers.

27th August 2026 at 2:08 pm #254592Hence why I said football transfers are complicated, moreso than most fans think. I get that fans can get frustrated, that’s fine, but what’s not fine is when people question or even mock when I (unlike some on here) reference my source as an ITK, or worse still try and belittle it to enhance their own reputation. That’s out of order and I suggest next time they just keep their mouths shut.
These sources got every major signing spot on last year and were right again with Barcola. The only spanner in the works was when Real bid for Diomande which no one had forseen. We had been given assurances by Roc Nation only for them to change the tune favouring PSG but as the Paris club weren’t going to bid so high I think we were still in with a chance until Real came calling.
We should treat Roc Nation with caution from now on, they work in a business were reputation is vital and they put a huge dent in theirs.

27th August 2026 at 3:06 pm #254594I completely get personal terms agreed right off the bat, but that’s just an early stage of the process (attain interest, approval, personal terms). The actual price tag was clearly not agreed upon. PSG could easily have dug their heels in and said not a penny over 145m and that would have been the end.
LFC may have took a different course in who managed the negotiations in the end to get it over the line but to say the deal was done (personal terms and FEE) weeks and weeks ago was clearly not the case.
The actual net, amortized amount (100m) plus the add ons (20m) was obviously the sticking point so in complete reality from a contractual and legal standpoint, the deal for Barcola was not done ie. finalised, weeks ago.
Yes the player wanted to go.
Yes PSG were open to selling.
Yes personal terms agreed.
No final transfer fee agreed plus add ons.
Until this week._____________________________

27th August 2026 at 3:14 pm #254595I don´t really agree with 3ps about the deal having been done a few weeks ago, it´s today that the deal got done but PSG were in no position to hold onto the player. He had made it clear he wanted to leave, they have gotten in their replacements and there is not enough game time for all their forwards. If we had done the deal earlier it would likely be closer to 145 million, I honestly do not care about a price tags of players. That´s for the rest of you and especially songman.
I can´t wait for his debut, not just because I wanna see him playing in red but I also wanna know what the plan is for our attack this season. We finally have a fast attack, we are dangerous on the counter again, the more pace we lost the more exposed Gakpo got cause he is not a dribbler, he does not have pace about him so our counters were shit last season. Salah had already lost most of his pace as well.

27th August 2026 at 3:34 pm #254598Where was a being a dickhead? Apologies if I came across as sarcastic with my Melwood Lean/ITK posts (probably what you are referring too) but definitely didn’t mean that to be personal; I just don’t believe anything until officially announced.
It was evident and clear the deal was not 100% finalised until a compromise fee was agreed in the last 24 hours. Not doubting those in the know, many are often right but if it had been done weeks ago there would be no benefit or right for PSG to hold him back if legally, all documents had been signed. He is then OUR player and would want to join up following his WC exploits.
That’s it. Again, apologies Threeps if it came across bellendish! A cyber pint on me.

27th August 2026 at 3:47 pm #254600It really does look like Gapko will leave. Nothing here suggesting Iraola is dead set on keeping him.
Iraola: I can’t guarantee Gakpo will stay at Liverpool
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola on Cody Gakpo’s future:
“When the market is open, you cannot guarantee anything with anyone. You never know who’s going to arrive.Â
“I would like to know how the market finishes but I don’t know what will happen with any of our players. I cannot guarantee anything.”

27th August 2026 at 4:04 pm #254602I think it would be a mistake to let Gakpo go considering our strength in depth.
However we are now heavily stocked with left sided attackers and very light on right sided attackers.

27th August 2026 at 4:05 pm #254603I do not think we can let Gakpo go, if we do we lose basically the only player that can cover for Isak, even if Barcola can also play as as striker. It´s gonna be a very interesting to see what happens in the final days of the window.

27th August 2026 at 4:10 pm #254604That’s it, right there Bingo, I think if Ekitike was fit, Gakpo would be off, no question. Iraola has no-one else he can slot in there until Hugo is back. Barcola has to be used for what his is, functionally, and that’s a winger.
I still think Gapko is as good as gone. Just a hunch.
