I honestly believe they Ed
I don’t see it as extreme especially after watching last nights display
I am however very negative but in my defence I’ve been watching Arsenal 🤣🤣

Maybe we could scrape our way to a tournament win but like many club fans we don’t just want to win we want to deserve to win by playing well
I didn’t think we looked like losing either to be fair but I really hope this squad steps up
You hear them talk and they say the right things but then don’t do a thing they have talked about when they step on the pitch it’s baffling to me personally
As I mentioned Southgate is very likeable and talks very well but then you see a display like last night just like under every other manager we have
We just can’t seem to find that key and players and style of play that most top teams develop that works for them
I would love to be shut up by the team doing what I think they are capable of but never deliver

You say that Ed but if anyone of those you mention play us they will win at a canter
You look at our squad and they should on paper be so much better
Or is it as has been said that most of our players are on pedestals and not haps as good as we think when not surrounded by world class foreign players ?
If you think I’m being harsh and you do tend to pull me up every time Ed I notice whilst other negative comments slip by unchallenged it’s because I want more from a squad I believe could and should offer more

Saying we have 4 points isn’t enough you have to look at their performances and both were average or bad
Totally unbalanced lost the midfield no cutting edge
Kane shouldn’t start at the moment
Take Foden off as our best player and leave Stirling?
It was like watching Arsenal lots of sideways passing no directness and lots of unforced errors
If and it’s still a big if for me that we progress we will comfortably lose against the first semi decent side we face unless there are some big changes

In previous years it was the pl culture
Seen an interesting interview with Rio and that generation and he said the club rivalry when competing at the top inhibited the team

How many of those were penalties foxy ?
I’m not knocking him as a striker but doesn’t do it for England so can only be down to how he and the team are set up and play

Trippier, Sterling and rashford shouldn’t have played based on form and who could have played

Same old story they just pick the names

It’s great to play someone like Philips but undo it with others

There is no basis for this play the best team on form no matter the age or “name” it’s called competition and maybe a few of the others will step up

We beat ourselves every time

A win is a win but it only shows how far we have to go, we have the potential if we stop hamstringing ourselves

Is Kane a problem for England? 3rd major tournament and one goal from open play
As for experience in tournaments, biggest load of tosh … these players play for big clubs in the pl and European competition and they can’t cope with a national tournament?
Playing old names not people on form and being to conservative it’s so frustrating
England team is handicapped before they kick a ball with poor player selection and not being brave enough
We will do okay (nothing special) but first top team we play will beat us with ease

Chilwell will be buzzing and on a high
Better attacking from chilwell and a much better crosser of the ball
Shaw better defensive tho so it’s more about who else plays and what you want
