Jim, at least you understand and take it in the way it is meant to be. Of course we want pleasantries and sound exchanges, but also, people have to accept when opposition fans want the OTHER team to lose. It’s competitive and perfectly normal. No need for certain individuals to get on their hobby horse, monopolize conversation and TWIST everything out of context!

999, steady on, this is not your site so you don’t have any right as such dictating what I can and can’t think so don’t you be taking the ‘sensible’ tone and monopolize others. It’s up to me what I think. I may have gone into orbit because you come across two-faced. You’re saying things like “a comfortable Liverpool victory” or words to that effect, then the minute I get my hopes up, you come out with “oh but watch out for Andy Carroll”. That’s your regularity pal, so please quit this attitude or kindly refrain from exchanging conversations. I don’t care all day long if you wanted Liverpool to win every single game as you’re a Chelsea supporter and I would expect nothing different, as with any other opposition club, but it’s the two-faced or the mix-messages I don’t like. It’s not your place to dictate and TELL ME what I can and can’t do.

Chucky, having studied the league table, I’m actually happy with the way the standings are. It’s just Man City that are head and shoulders above everyone else so I’d be wishing for them to be dropping points every week.
From an LFC pov, we have hope, but equally, we have a frail and such an amateur formation of a defence to be putting on a string of say 6 wins in succession.

First blood to Chelsea! Morata!
To be fair, they deserve to be in the lead.

Me too Chucky, but 999 doesn’t want us to wish defeats on our competitors hahaha 🙂 🙂

A draw wouldn’t be a bad result from a neutral pov.

Nine, realistically I know that. But my point was, if we had a scenario like this on the last day, then it’s something I would HAVE to believe if it meant that would move Liverpool into 4th place.
As for the competitors, true to an extent, but it every little contributes and even better if teams above us drop points – prime example with Arsenal, just now.

I got 3 Chelsea players in my fantasy team and obviously don’t want United, though if United were to come away with a 4-0 thumping, Liverpool would move up to 4th.
I don’t what to think, but imagine, if this was on the final day of the season and a matter of qualifying for the Champions League, I’d be cheering on my enemy!

999, yeah, pretty chuffed with that. Burnley are also on 19 points.
As it stands, it just looks almost impossible that Man City will falter. But for the rest of us with this type of fluctuation, it fills us with hope and makes the league more appealing.

Ed, was just thinking in one way, it’s not just a bad thing between the top 6 if the points out of these games aren’t distributed evenly (i.e. games ending in a draw). At the moment as the table stands, I wouldn’t be too disappointed if for example, United were to beat Chelsea. That would be a profitable week from an LFC point of view.

All changed now. Arsenal pull a goal back and set up a grandstand finish.

Wouldn’t mind another from KDB. Bump up points from my Fantasy team.

That penalty by Aguero has just placed Liverpool in 5th spot. I kid you not. Imagine if something like this happened on the last day?

I can see why there’s been a lot of praise so far this season. From what I heard, right from the first whistle that City goal had been coming all day long. Pep has at least one T1000 in that first 11 🙂

Just killing some time before kick or may opt for the Radio commentary on the Man City game. It must be me getting older, but I found Jamie Redknapp analysing whilst interviewing KDB of Man City an absolute turn off.
They need to be shortening these build ups to the game. For me it’s just excessive and overthought.
I don’t mind forums as such or fans phoning in, but pundits and the technology used to draw out findings is just far too scientific.

Paxton, that’s the hallmark of a potential League Championship contender which I believe you guys to be. Slightly surprised on the scoreline, however, it seemed a bit of a hard slog considering all the energy used in the midweek triumph.
Roy probably would have been delighted with a draw as he needs to be finding those points considering the hard task he has ahead of him. A win is a win which puts you level with United any only 5 behind Man City.

Agree with your overall summary 999. Sturridge is still off pace to what we are used to seeing and you’re right to point out he’s never been ‘that’ player he was when Suarez was alongside him.
I don’t think the Ox is quite there too.
I know it’s Germany, but managers in the past have often been criticized for not taking risks in unleashing different players or the more younger up and coming players.
It’s a friendly, but as long as we give a good account for ourselves and even if we lose, be able to take positives and learn from any mistakes made.

The Ox had his first opportunity to play in place of Henderson. Although I been in more acceptance to Jordan leading out the team and doing his bit on the pitch, as far as quality and effectiveness goes, Wijn for example links better with the Ox like John Barnes and Michael Thomas.
It’s good that this encourages competition, plus the long awaited return of Adam Lallana is not too far away, so a bit of a selection headache it seems for Jurgen, but I’m really liking this alternative set up around the Ox.
Sorry Jordan mate.

That’s true about Rafa being cagey.
I do think against teams more on par against quality should mean showing more ambition than selling yourself short, especially on home soil.
I could understand if he had to play Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
This is what I liked about Leicester in the CL last year. Rather than being cagey, they just went for it.
