Looks like Trent, Shaqs and Keita will start for us tomorrow night in place of Milner, Hendo and Firmino. This should more than boost our attack and feeling optimistic on this, I’ll go for 2.5 goals at the very least – should be a Top Night.

Leicester 1 up.
Rodgers at the stadium with a beaming smile.

Sean agree mate. I don’t understand how this can be separated from all the other factors brought together to form an assessment on Sarri’s season overall.
Surely if a player refuses to obey an order then that raises doubt. If Kepa is installed tomorrow night, that’s a pretty poor show.

Good appointment I’d say in playing a positive brand of attacking football.

Should be confirmed in a bit.
Could be back to playing a 442.

Just outside the king power on my way home from work – stuck in traffic.
Rodgers is definitely there. He looks set to be the new boss.⚽️

Having read all these replies, think I’m with Alfie on this.
Seems like a guard is instantly put up when putting forward forthright opinions on Kepa and Sarri.
My disgust really is on the actions of the player and the impact he had on the rest in a moment of madness.
He lost the shootout for me when the other keeper would have been perfect.
Sarri unfortunately won’t be a long-term plan. My argument has been that from the outside, this really doesn’t look good to try and attract a new club manager.

Alfie, imagine though had this been another club like a Man United or a Liverpool and we would have seen the ‘holier than thou’ attitude. Lol, Henderson’s brought into comparison!
They’ve clearly tried to do a patch up job in order to avoid disrupting the momentum and in the process have played with the intelligence of football fans, and their own supporters.
They’re not dumb. That would never have happened in the example of another Club Manager. Feel for Sarri and it just seems like he’s been shafted.
It also seemed to me that Kepa was on the naughty side feigning injury to run down the clock and basically played with fire. This resembles in reminder of a certain incident involving a certain player where the Club Doctor came out and was lambasted by Jose – I smell a rat.
Basically though, a case of “do what you like”!

25th February 2019 at 9:56 pm in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34342Oz, you’d definitely enjoy the Rugby mate if you were in our neck of the woods, re Leicester. There’s usually too a good air of optimism whenever the 6 nations is on.

25th February 2019 at 9:54 pm in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34341I remember at one point in the first half on the counter right hand side, a pass was picked up by Salah. His second touch was a tad heavy allowing Juan Mata to make a challenge although he himself did very well otherwise Salah was in.
We found our rhythm back against Bournemouth a weeks back and it was just a wonderful Saturday afternoon for us on the back of a break after drawing to West Ham.
United away was always going to be difficult and I don’t think they wanted to lose the game just as much as we didn’t and so that penalty box was packed.
Both sets of defences deserve the plaudits rightly and thus we ended with a 0-0 scoreline. I felt though United had the better of the chances and we ourselves hardly had any shots on target.
Realistically going forward, our toughest away game has gone. Everton will do what they always try and do but we should have enough to get past them and they haven’t great.
We just got to take it one game at a time and we are more than capable in putting in a run. A big plus in the way Allison and Van Dijk handled themselves yesterday – a definite telepathy between the two.

I would definitely have chosen Caballero Brian over Kepa for the shootout.

Mak, it’s likely to me normal service will be resumed re Kepa and it’ll all be nipped in the bud. Maybe Sarri’s been advised as he probably doesn’t want a new headache.
Not that I care a great deal in all this but purely from a football fan POV, I actually would have given Caballero an opportunity and punished Kepa.
I think both Hendo and Klopp would have ironed out any tensions from yesterday.

As we are entering a new week, something come about locally in Rafa being linked to Leicester. It would be a good move for him potentially as Leicester do have money in the kitty and better players against Newcastle to work with.

25th February 2019 at 7:31 pm in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34326Some of City’s and Liverpool’s fixtures in facing opposition are similar. I.e. Spurs at home. They could get results at both Anfield and the Ethiad.
Adlab’s right and that’s all we need to do, but it’s still a big ask from an LFC point of view and Man City obviously have been proven winners 3 times this decade.
Gladfully for us, Man United away is done and dusted where as Man City have to go there soon and United themselves have something genuine to aim for in securing 4th spot. I still think Spurs would want to finish as high as possible and still be on the coattails of Liverpool and Man City.
One notable point that hasn’t so far been mentioned is the Liverpool have kept 3 clean sheets since the draw at West Ham (including the Bayern Munich game) and we still have players to come back in Gomez and Oxlaid.
I hope in the meantime we can find our shooting boots and regain some sparkle as far as our attacking goes.

Not had much joy in recent evening games. Hopefully Anfield raises the volume and we get our players playing high octane.
Hope shaqi starts for us – maybe Origi too if forming is out.

25th February 2019 at 10:45 am in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34296Oz, hope you’re well mate. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that’s good mate that you have other activities you can enjoy.
Weirdly to a very large extent, I did feel chilled (albeit the odd heart in mouth moment) yesterday’s game. The United cloth of players compared to 10 years ago have changed. There’s competitiveness but notably under Ole’s regime, these guys showed respect to Liverpool. There was no maliciousness. If I was a United fan, I’d also be encouraged in what I saw in relation to young blood in scott mctominay and Andreas Pereira – very energetic individuals.
I’m happy looking at the wider picture not to be defeated with the point taking us to the Top Of The Table. What I’m not happy with is the way we are applying ourselves when it comes to attack, all the excessive ifs, buts and maybe’s, and the pressure. Purely to me on the basis of previous recent history and the fact that we’ve never won the title once it was converted to The Premier League.
You’re right mate, it is an excessive money-making machine that can rear it’s ugly head at the worse of it’s times due to greed and the way some players out there conduct themselves. It’s an industry that’s ever growing in inviting more and more leeches otherwise affiliated with the Media, and they themselves make money out of it.
There are more and more You Tube channels rolling out Liverpool’s Title Chances, so it’s not just Sky.
Our itinerary to me doesn’t really help when there’s a 10 to a 2 week break in not playing football. Although the result wasn’t bad, we played as though we were in slow motion we lacked energy and inventory.
Milner playing right-back can’t be expected to defend and run a full length of the pitch to put crosses in. Trent should have played and perhaps Shaqiri or Naby Keita should have started to give us more creativity. I think Klopp lost his patience with Hendo and we may see altogether a new Captain come next season.
Well, another 11 games left plus the CL and where we are, it’s a matter right now in pressing the RESET BUTTON and prepare ourselves for Wednesday.
Cheers

25th February 2019 at 8:39 am in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34286Chucks, football depending on who you support just feels all crappy at the moment. Don’t know why considering we’re top of the table, but all the talk and the ifs. There’s always a negative notion placed as a lead emphasis.

25th February 2019 at 8:36 am in reply to: BIG Weekend Footy – Man United V Liverpool and Chelsea v Man City #34285Chelsea are a mess at the moment. It’s a disservice too to their supporters when they are now trying to play this Kepa saga down. How does a kid disobey instructions?
As mentioned yesterday, their hands are tied with transfer window bans, and nobody really in the pipeline for the time being to replace Sarri other that a short-term appointment.
I don’t think too, the club want to be forced with another settlement in paying out yet another Manager to relieve him of his duties.
