That’s it Mikus. Liverpool were done over like that at Villa not long ago. It happens. Liverpool themselves were also battered in a similar fashion by a struggling Madrid side at their own place only recently.
We’re clearly a work in progress and reacted very well to setbacks so far this season, namely the Brentford and the Man City hammerings. We move on. It’s never nice to get hammered but a CL spot and a trophy would have been a great season for us for Ten Hag’s first and we’re halfway there already with a CL spot very much within grasp.

Well he wasn’t wrong as we were the only side still competing on all fronts. Not a chance anyone was seriously backing us to do it though. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Any team being left as the sole competitor in all the competitions is going to be the subject of talk about it as it’s such a big feat which has never been accomplished before, albeit it wouldn’t have been THE quadruple anyway, merely A quadruple. Was never, ever on, regardless. The manager’s been there less than a year.

Did you have the same moan when it was City being talked up about the quadruple? Don’t remember you coming on here and complaining about it then? Enjoy kicking us while you’re down but at least be consistent GJ.

Lucky, no idea mate. Didn’t even know it was being mentioned 😆. We were 8 points behind Arsenal. No chance a quad was ever a thing. Put it this way though, as little chance as we have of the quad, it’s guaranteed to be more of a chance than any other team! 😁

One of those games where everything we do goes against us and every little deflection falls to a Liverpool player in the right place. Utd in desperate need of a striker this summer. Weghorst, for all his hard work, isn’t going to cut it.

Congrats to the Pool lads. Thought we were good first half and probably the more dangerous side until the first goal. The collapse since the first goal is inexplicable. Liverpool all over us. The #kloppout shouts will surely quieten down now for a while. Utd’s defence all over the place today.

Reckon we’d both happily settle for a draw Sean. A no/low scoring draw is probably the most likely result

If Liverpool beat us, they’re only 7 behind and we’d definitely have to start looking over our shoulder. I maintain that I think Liverpool will get top 4 and a win would certainly set them up for getting that, particularly if Spurs and Newcastle drop points. A Utd win would all but secure top 4 for us I think. I wouldn’t expect us to get caught if we win this one. Huge game.

Hard to see any of City, Arsenal, Chelsea dropping points, which at least means Newcastle will drop another 3. Brighton likely to keep up the pace with another home win. Spurs could have a tricky time away at Wolves. Fancy a draw there.
Really nervous about Sunday. Utd are a world away from the side who went there last season and were torn apart under Rangnick. That we go there and people can’t call the game shows how far we’ve come in a short time. Liverpool are just coming into form at the right time but there’s an argument that form matters little in this game. I’m not going to say I fancy us but we have a chance to take something there and it’s a long time since I last said that.
Incoming post from Sean:
“Utd will beat us easily. No chance of us getting top 4”

2nd March 2023 at 4:32 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 25 & Carabao Cup Final 2023 #204910This was from the goal West Ham got given by VAR yesterday by the way 😆. I can only imagine the uproar if we’d been given that. Joke of a decision considering VAR looked at it

27th February 2023 at 7:07 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 25 & Carabao Cup Final 2023 #204864That’s pretty much it Chucky. The one thing in common in all those sets of fans is a sustained period of success. The only way of having a fanbase which neutrals don’t really mind is by having a team who don’t win anything. Yesterday a great example. Neutrals love Newcastle fans. Give it a few years when the Saudis have spent billions and see how many neutrals like them.

27th February 2023 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 25 & Carabao Cup Final 2023 #204861Oh I don’t deny we have a lot of annoying fans Harry but you’re not seriously one of these fans who thinks their own team’s fans are superior to everyone else I hope. There’s a reason Liverpool fans were referred to as “the unbearables”. Are Liverpool fans any worse than any others, though? Of course not. Nor are Utd fans. There’s just a lot more of both Liverpool and Utd fans which makes it more noticeable than any others when the tides change.
