The handball law change is just the tip of the iceberg, in order for VAR to work effectively it has to be used to judge matters of fact, not opinions. I expect more changes in the coming seasons, the technology is now in place, the laws will change to reflect that…..Pagan

Mr. Balance, the problem is that the game is changing, for me I think it will make the game sterile, no controversy, no spontaneity but if you want the game played black and white to the laws of the game that’s the way we’re heading, it’s not for me but others may want it that way….Pagan

It’s not going to be fun watching players and fans adapt to knowing not to celebrate too soon.

This is the thing that will make me the most sad, even though it’s actually a very difficult situation to resolve.

I see the new handball rules as something that was completely avoidable, so it’s a self-created problem.. so I’ve absolutely no patience for it at all. i tell you, if this was Liverpool, I’d be going mental. I am kinda pissed off now because I know that some day it will be Liverpool and this is just unacceptable.

it may actually chase me away from the sport. It’s that bad.

IFAB are responsible for this rule change and FiFA have 50% of the votes anr as Adlab rightly said “whichever team it effecfs in such circumstances is nonsense.”

Clubs don’t get to give approval to rule changes and this one is patently nonsense imo the ball must have just brushed Laportes shirt.

City played some lovely football again today completely dominating Spurs and on another day would have won comfortably but it’s a good point for Spurs and very few teams will leave the Etihad with anything.

On the Aguero/Pep situation it’s a storm in a tea cup players especially the very biggest players don’t like to be substituted they were both hugging each other after that.

Mr Pagan,

Having thought about the ‘narrative’ or reaction (so far) led on the back of the final game of the evening, I just feel all the views posted are funnelled into the mode of feeling aggrieved which I fully appreciate.

If the Ball touched the hand, however, nobody has mentioned anything with the ‘shoe being on the other foot’

What I’m saying is on the flip-side, there could well have been talk on the ball touching the hand to help/guide success.

The Game itself and the moment is quick like Feather-touch. Yet it’s been spotted. No doubt had this happened to my own Team, I’d be livid as it’s prevented 3 points.

So I get it.

I think you are over-reacting Mr Pagan on the game going sterile. Nothing sterile in a law being applied and Michael Oliver and Team did a Top Job.

Spontaneity as you put it has no bearing on this particular matter.

People moan, complain etc, yet fail to come up with any solutions. So that in itself has rendered talk, so I guess the clock keeps ticking and everyone’s a Winner hahaha.

I’ve been able to have a better look at the handball incident now in higher quality video etc…. and I am even more of the opinion that it’s complete bullshit. You can see 100% the guy is trying to head the ball.

Honestly, fuck the FA. This ism a completely stupid rule and it’s going to ruin the game.

Football is about scoring goals this new rule has been introduced to limit the scoring of goals that was a good goal today imo ruled out because of an idiotic rule change it’s wrong plain wrong and it’s ruining the beautiful game.

Handball should be for deliberate handball done to achieve an advantage this was a million miles from that.

Congratulations to Pep for keeping his cool and to be still smiling after seeing two late winners chalked off ironically against the same team.

Ya, they’ve made this rule change to accommodate for VAR but by doing so, they are undoing the very core purpose of VAR (and I’m not talking about their damned ideas of it.).

Im pro VAR but only at a certain cost and this plus soem other things are not worth it.

You know what lads, you almost get the feeling that they are setting this up for a disaster so everyone says “NO MORE VAR… get us back to corrupt refs please!”.

This footballing body has got to go.

Absolute nonsensical POV.

It’s just a law that happened to have surfaced and applied on the ‘Main Event’.

Nobody would have batted an eyelid had their been some other team involved.

I think so far, the FA, VAR and Referees have done a Stella Job. Not easy by a long chalk but, they are finally receiving the help they need and deservedly so.
