Mav, my bad the European Football Landscape report recently released confirm United’s debt at 536m Euros.
Not stopped Phil Jones signing a new contract until 2023 though.😊

We’ve been over the money side of things enough. It does come down to what happens on the pitch. Look at the disgrace Mourinho’s Utd was. Look at them now. Honestly, I’m starting to think that it isn’t just a honeymoon period but we’ll see after they’ve played a few top teams. Honeymoon for me is usually 4 or 5 games but I could be wrong. regardless, the same expensive team were a joke under Jose.
Look at City. You all know that they broke 100 points because of a combination of great management and their selection of players. The same can be said for Klopp’s Liverpool. He gets more out of players than most managers and yes, he gets paid an absolute fortune but it’s all done on the pitch in the end of the day. Money doesn’t buy success outright, it’s a catalyst for it though, if it’s used right and to be totally fair with City and also my own team, they’ve spent a lot in recent years but they’ve also put it to work. The same cant be said for Jose’s Utd.
Spurs. Honestly, I’ve credited them in the past for how they’ve done so well with what they have (not spending)… but they have a CRACKING team. Liverpool are no better there overall. We’re doing better but I think we’ve got to take it easy with the praise for Spurs. They didnt spend but they kept their brilliant side together. That means no time getting players used to the PL. It means they are all used to playing with eachother and it also signals a strong unity within the squad. So I just don’t buy into this idea that they are somehow at a disadvantage to others because they haven’t spent… To a point but it’s gone overboard. You’d swear they were going into games with one hand tied behind their backs.
You know who could have done with some other players? Liverpool. We didn’t buy anyone in January. Where’s the talk of this? I’ll tell you where it is. It’s out of the mouth of the media if we lose our next match.8th February 2019 at 7:46 pm #33210
Mak-We wont finish higher than 5th,but only cos Arse are their usual. We need 4-5 very good-I mean not expensive but players able to fit in straight away, for us to challenge next year. The 4th is within our reach only cos Chelsea gets spanked 4-0 by the mighty Bournemouth!8th February 2019 at 7:55 pm #33211
Anybody knows anything about this new kid on the block-[not Nil]-Joao Felix of Benfica, being talked in the region of £120m?8th February 2019 at 9:19 pm #33212

Why doesn’t FFP Ever do anything to Man United just out of interest?8th February 2019 at 9:44 pm #33217
And, just because Liverpool haven’t won the League Championship for 29 years, why are we placing ourselves as inferior and having forced to place other teams on a Pedestal?9th February 2019 at 2:54 am #33218
Mav, I honestly havent been following Utd so if you were to get to put in 4-5 top playres, would you hae any players in mind?
I understand that you might not for some positions. I’m not putting you on the spot. I didnt see Robertson coming and we could go further still if needs be.. but ok, you can replace 4-5 players.. who do you improve upon? and yes, to improve upon someone, Im totally ok with you not being sure on who comes in.. if you want. I wont hold this against you basically

Mak you can’t compare the spending of c$ty & Liverpool mate, there is no comparison. Well except for the last couple of windows where we are trying to play catch up but their massive spending for years after they got their new owners put them way way ahead.
I agree with those saying manu are the most likely to catch c$ty in the next couple of seasons. FFP doesn’t effect them as much due to what they turn over as a club so they can effectively spend more than most.9th February 2019 at 8:56 am #332229th February 2019 at 8:58 am #33223

Mak-No idea m8 who these players are/might be,just saying that we need @ least that many. The same goes for Arse,Chelsea & United. But like I said on another thread,I really hope United plan long-term,with giving youth a chance, instead of buying the likes of Mata,Matic,Sanchez,Bale,Aldi,Varane, etc, players way past their best or always injured.Much rather have a J.Maddison any day of the week over Mata & Sanchez,a D.Brooks,a D.Gray,a B.Chilwell, rather than buying expensive foreign players i.e.Depay,ADM,Falcao,Darmian,Rojo,etc.
