Mav, I honestly havent been following Utd so if you were to get to put in 4-5 top playres, would you hae any players in mind?
I understand that you might not for some positions. I’m not putting you on the spot. I didnt see Robertson coming and we could go further still if needs be.. but ok, you can replace 4-5 players.. who do you improve upon? and yes, to improve upon someone, Im totally ok with you not being sure on who comes in.. if you want. I wont hold this against you basically

Mak you can’t compare the spending of c$ty & Liverpool mate, there is no comparison. Well except for the last couple of windows where we are trying to play catch up but their massive spending for years after they got their new owners put them way way ahead.
I agree with those saying manu are the most likely to catch c$ty in the next couple of seasons. FFP doesn’t effect them as much due to what they turn over as a club so they can effectively spend more than most._____________________________

Mak-No idea m8 who these players are/might be,just saying that we need @ least that many.The same goes for Arse,Chelsea & United.But like I said on another thread,I really hope United plan long-term,with giving youth a chance,instead of buying the likes of Mata,Matic,Sanchez,Bale,Aldi,Varane,etc,players way past their best or always injured.Much rather have a J.Maddison any day of the week over Mata & Sanchez,a D.Brooks,a D.Gray,a B.Chilwell,rather than buying expensive foreign players i.e.Depay,ADM,Falcao,Darmian,Rojo,etc.

Nil-We have touched upon this so many times m8,you can spend as much as you like,but you have to spend wisely pal.Take Shaqiri for example,much better investment than Mata & Sanchez= combined, Firminho better than Lukaku & Sanchez=combined again,Salah better than Falcao,Sanchez & Lukaku-combined! Wijnaldum better than Matic,Fred & Herrera=combined! These things happen sometimes m8.

Mav, I notice you haven’t included Pogba in your comparison of good V poor transfers. I think before SJK took over you might have but he’s starting to show his worth. That’s something at least!
I honestly don’t watch Utd but is Sanchez really that bad? Has he not improved under SJK like others? I’ve heard very little about him in this rich vein of form from Utd. It’s all Pogba or Rashford etc. I’ve actually got both of them in my fantasy football team. While Jose was in charge, I wouldn’t touch Utd.
You’re dead right that Utd have got to start spending more widely. I mean, Liverpool have been punching above their weight for a while now in the transfer market. If you guys get it together, we won’t be able to compete with your buying power.
It’s definitely a worry. I mean, if you look at Liverpool right now. Our biggest chance to win the PL (maybe ever) has come when we’re up against maybe the best PL side ever. A team with one of the best squads in football. Utd aren’t in the mix but I’ve no doubt ye will next season. That means we’ve another utter powerhouse to compete with. it’s not a pleasant thought.
it’s like we’ve really got to double down and get over the line while we’ve got the feckin chance! haha
