Stick to football mate, it’s hard to take financial advice from a lottery winner seriously… ๐Ÿ™‚

Unfortunately spurs werenโ€™t gifted a shiny new stadium. The planning for the new one has been going on for about 15 years with spurs acquiring land around WHL and many legal battles. They have had to raise a huge amount of money for the stadium which will provide facilities not seen in any other football stadium in the world and huge upgrades to the local area and infrastructure.

Saying that, todayโ€™s performance was poor. No fluidity, sissoko is a championship player, Dier has regressed a lot and is miles behind Wanyama. Alli is great when we are 2 or 3 goals up but he canโ€™t change games. Trippier and aurier are both such a backwards step from walker and rose is twice the player Davies is. Exceptionally tough run of games with Liverpool United arsenal and juventus twice. Need to up our game massively.

I am no lottery winner Chucky just a football fan. But it does look like I have touched a nerve there. I guess sometimes the truth hurts a little. Best just blaming your misfortune on others good fortune. Its much simpler!

Pax. Fair enough. We wernt exactly gifted the new stadium but we did get a great deal on it. City paid about 30-40million to convert it to. Football after the Com games. And we handed over Maine Road to the Manchester Council. So that contributed about ยฃ10 given land values in moss side. Joking aside it was a good deal but not as good as West Hams.

Big J… so no word coming from you during the game, just a bog standard “need to buy more players” response afterward? What sort of “reaction” did you think you were going to get? “Oh thank you wise one, can you give us a billion quid?” or what?

Don’t recall blaming anybody or anything for the draw today, just commenting to fan who’s team has won the lottery and makes it sound so simple for everybody else to compete…

Both Man United and Chelsea look firm and unlikely to slide out. I would say it’s Liverpool given our recent history after the 14/15 season. I said in another thread we have improved against this time last year and have become more resilient.

However, it would only take a couple of bad results from us for the table to shape differently.

Had a sort of a similar type of conversation with Brian here, and being a fan these days when you’re attached to clubs with potential and levels of expectation, you’re effectively in a Rat Race.

Take Man City to one side, and I believe we’re in a 2 tier type of a Premier League.

I suppose too, with the contributions of Television money that I believe has bettered clubs financially, our league in recent years I’m happy to say is more of a level playing field.

It could be better if Salaries and transfer fees were regulated, and maybe at some point in time, once the bubble bursts, we may eventually see that.

We have had this conversation before. When I have mentioned that you need one or two more players and that Levy won’t open his wallet and get them. You get all defensive? It’s clear as day. Poch is doing a fantastic job playing great football on the smallest transfer budget in the league. That is staggering in itself. I watched most of the game and you clearly missed Eriksson. But my first post want meant to be provocative Just you took it as such. I Just said that Poch needs to get a player or two in and you get all arsey. I very much doubt I would get the same response if I were a spurs fan would I? Finally just because my club got lucky does t mean I can’t have an opinion on other things does it? Fans are no different my friend. Peace and olive branch offered!?

Come on lads the big benefit of this site to date is that predominantly views are exchanged without any angst. Understandably there will always be differences of opinion because of who we all support.

“Poor showing from Spurs. Surprised at their poor form the last few weeks. Pressure is definitely on Poch and Levy to freshen up the squad and get a top four spot.”

To be fair to Jim the above seemed like an honest assessment of where Spurs are currently and had it been posted by a Spurs fan I doubt it would have caused a reaction.

Tbh I think the January transfer market will play a part in who takes one of the remaining three CL places and how and where everyone sits squad wise after the window closes may well determine who occupies 2nd to 4th place and in what order. Still everything to play for.

But are spurs in poor form? They have dropped points againest West Ham and today but they have won 5 matches out of those 7. They are in 4th round and cl last 16.

Itโ€™s dripped points today but I donโ€™t think spurs are in poor form at all

No, not poor form for me either.

Trouble is, everyone else is in good form, so a draw or two sees the table shift about and teams pull away or overtake.

                          Very close from 2nd down.

Sean, Didn’t they lose to Leicester but was that last month? I honestly thought they had dropped more points recently hence the poor run of form comment. Alfies right the race for top four is really tight.

Since the beginning of December Spurs have drawn with Watford, West Ham and Southampton and got beaten by City so there’s no major decline in form.

Although Spurs are probably behind where they were last season points wise and don’t seem to playing to the levels they were last season but you could say the same about Chelsea and their run of form is currently half decent but a way away from last season.

I’m sure most Spurs fans would welcome an additional or two to the squad in January to and they’ve been linked with both Malcolm and Moura. Whether they make any aquisitions or not is open to conjecture but if others are and do that might have an impact on a top 4 finish.

It’s the way the league is.

I don’t think in reality I’ve ever been at a point where there’s been a draw and I thought to myself “ah well”.

You have to be like a good chunk of points ahead in the first place lol to be afforded of that luxury ๐Ÿ˜€

Pre season spurs were everyoneโ€™s favourites to drop out of top 4 due to Wembley. We are currently out the top 4 but not far behind. We are where we should be. no surprise considering we are playing in a new stadium where teams raise their performance and also the fact we didnโ€™t strengthen this summer due to financial constraints with the new stadium.

Games like today donโ€™t help as we shouldโ€™ve beat Southampton quite easily. Poch got it wrong starting Dier and sissoko and then didnโ€™t change it til too late and he has to take the blame.
