ParticipantCouldn’t be arsed to find the old one! π
So, one of the best managers in the world, and certainly the best manager available has taken over the reigns, can he finally push us over the line and collect a pot or two? Only time will tell…
Players staying for sure keeping:
Lloris, Romareo, Regulon, Hodge-Podge, Son, Kane & N-Dumb…
Players I’d keep for “squad” purposes:
Skipp, Dier, Davies, Wee Ryan, Golloni, Lo Cecil, Rodon, Gil, Tanganga
Players playing for their future at the Spuds:
Ali, Moura, Bergwin, Sanchez, Royal, Docherty
Everybody else should be phoning their agents, pronto!

ParticipantIβd like to see Doherty get a chance in a back 5. Royal is absolutely pants.
Sanchez has regressed seriously since poch left but thereβs a good player there.
The front two could be Kane and son
Ali wonβt get near that team

ModeratorI think they’ll be some initial head scratchers Sean like Moses at wing back but it worked.

Participantreally not sure about Docherty, it could really work out for him or get even worse, hence sticking him on the “playing for a future” list… or equally on the “shipping out to the Bone Saw Boyz” list which didn’t appear during my edit… π
As for Dele, get him back to the Dele from 2 years ago mode, then I would absolutely keep him… but can Conte get him back to that level? (He’s also on the “Bone Saw Boyz” list!)…
As for Royal, the dury is still very much out, although he is absolutely looking like an “apples for apples” with Weirdy Beardy… (that lad we were sniffing about who when to the Goonies certainly does look like the better option on what I’ve seen, don’t know what Buffy thinks of him!)
I think Dirty Sanchez has had plenty of chances, keep him as a squad player (if he’s up for it), but seen enough of him to think he won’t be a regular 1st 11 player in my books (he can share the cab up Norff if the numbers are big enough!)

ParticipantNine going to be very interesting to see what conte does there mate. Heβs in the top 5 managers in the world for me.
I canβt see spurs winning major trophies but if he gets them bsck into the cl and fighting and winning games, he be doing very well

ModeratorSean, I can see Spurs climbing the table realistically though there’s only one CL place to aim for currently and if United finally sack Ole even that might not be available going forwards so reclaiming a CL place won’t be easy.
I can see a domestic Cup or two whilst it lasts but I would be suprised if Conte went much longer than a couple of seasons.

ParticipantYou need 2-3 good players at least to mix up the squad so the same players aren’t used over and over again. There’s a few from the middle tier of the Prem you could try and nab – Jimenez as a Striker one of them and/or Traore. Trossard and/or Lallana from Brighton.

Conte will definitely improve Spurs. It’s pointless asking if any top manager can bring a PL or CL title, because the competition within the PL is incredible right now, they’d be fighting against 3 of the best PL sides in a long time. The CL, well… Need I say how difficult that is to win?
Spurs objective is to get competitive and Conte may have it in him to do that. Will he get to spend money, in the way he wants? because that’s what will need to happen.
