Forget players, this could be an all time crazy summer for managers….
Liverpool… shopping
Barca… shopping
Real… 99% shipping
YouUtd… 90% shopping
Munich… 80% shopping
Newcastle.. 75% shopping
Chelsea… wouldn’t be bloody surprised… 🙂
115… only if they’re “found” guilty (cough) before seasons end (the Pepe will bugger off!!)And who’s free on the market?
Potter
Muareen
Conte
NagalsmanAnd considering a lot of those clubs aren’t going to be signing players until they’ve sorted out the hotseat, I reckon more stable clubs are going to have quite a serious advantage in both the summer transfer window and next season in general…

28th January 2024 at 1:38 pm #212276What makes people think that Real are about to replace Carlo?

28th January 2024 at 5:34 pm #212286Isn’t Nagelsmann the manager of the German national side.

28th January 2024 at 5:48 pm #212288Pretty sure Nagelsman’s contract is just till the end of the Euro’s (hence all the “chat” about Kloop taking over) afterwards, and just as pretty sure Ancilotti is taking over the Brazil team this summer…

28th January 2024 at 6:52 pm #212297Doesn’t mean Real won’t sack him anytime

7th February 2024 at 2:33 pm #212522Looking more and more likely we can add the Jammy Todgers and Poncho to that list in ink rather than pencil…
I don’t think it for one minute he will, but how annoyed would the Pool boys be if Kloop rocks up in Barca as certain cyber rags are alluding too?

7th February 2024 at 5:36 pm #212523Depending on the finish Ten Hag and Poch replaced by Ineos and Mr Insider Trust
Palace definitely to replace a man older than me.
Liverpool probably Alonso if you believe the press.
I think Thomas Frank may move up.
Will Burnley stick with Vinny?
Is Howe safe at ,Newcastle?
I think Klopp to Barca_____________________________

7th February 2024 at 7:26 pm #212525Mo’s of to the Al-Bundy league… he won’t be showing up in Barca, that’s for sure.
If Howe somehow gets into Europe, I think he might be safe… outside Europe…. wouldn’t be showing up at any Embassy meetings.
Frank might move up, but to where? I think a Top6 club might be pushing it… (actually, replacing Howe would be about right I think).
Putting all my Monster Munch on Kloop taking over the national team… then maybe La Liga after the 2026 World Cup

7th February 2024 at 7:51 pm #212527If Mourinho goes back, Chelsea will have gone full circle.
I do think Klopp will have a break, though the national job in Germany would be a sort of break after the day to day intensity of domestic league football.
If Tuchel becomes available in the summer I could see him at Man Utd.
I’ll be surprised if Alonso isn’t at Liverpool next season.
Thomas Frank a good manager but does it say much about his big club ambition if he’s been at Brentford for quite a long time now?
If Chelsea & Man Utd do opt for managers with more top club experience, will that mark the end of this long term pipe dream strategy of developing young players under a manager with little experience at a top club?

7th February 2024 at 8:06 pm #212529TO be fair to Thomas Frank, has a “big” club come knocking for him? I can’t think of any… and even if they did, not that bad to show a bit of loyalty, is it?

7th February 2024 at 8:20 pm #212530Thing is with that though Banjo, your stock is only high for so long. Even if you have to leave yourself, better to do so whilst your stock is high than wait to drift back into mid table until you’re not so hot anymore.

19th May 2024 at 10:12 am #214692So both Brighton and De Zebri are in/on the market for new clubs/managers…
I don’t think he’ll be out of work for long, might be a good fit for Bone Say Boys if they get the hacksaws out… and I think we all think Tommy Tickle is going to end up at YooUtd… Micky Mousers hotseat is taken… and I think Poncho’s semi-decent finish to the season buys him another one…

19th May 2024 at 11:41 am #214694I’ve read the report from the Guardian and seemingly from the outside, it appears to be a joint amicable agreement between all parties. Quite sad as I like De Zerbi; straight-down-the-line-no nonsense.
Sign of the times would it be for a PL Manager’s tenure lasting 18 months.
Brighton can’t unfortunately finish any higher than 10th. From a financial point of view, even the difference of losing 2/3 million in finishing players is an underachievement and the Top end of the club factor this in when evaluating the season.
I have no blame in De Zerbi’s direction, but just sheer misfortune of him not having his players fit in one go.

19th May 2024 at 11:44 am #214695Chucks, what a contrast though when you think about it. The late surge from Chelsea finishing strong. Absolutely no mickey taking at all mate, but they are only 3 points behind you guys.
I just think Poch has too many players he needs to really think about getting rid. If he can pluck out the right jigsaw pieces, we’re looking at a different proposition next season.

19th May 2024 at 12:47 pm #214697Sean, I agree with that sentiment mate. Look what happened to Graham Potter.
I think there is a problem when trying to source for a Manager with Pedigree:
– Either nobody at the time available to fill the vacancy
– Not looking in the right places
– Lack of availability of somebody with a Proven CV/Portfolio
