Last game for this one true legend of a commentator. Always looked forward to Match Of The Day in the 1990s on a Saturday Night when I didn’t have any access to satellite tv.

Motson was one of the ones I always looked forward to

todays fixture involving Arsenal against Watford will be his last game.

Motson tried to nick my programme once at Chelsea should have gone for that alone!?

Shame he was one of the most recognisable voices in football but age catches up with everyone eventually. Wish him the very best.

Wow, did that really happen Nine?

Yeah, kind of last of the BBC old school commentators of that generation and era.

Barry Davis gave it up some years back as with Gerald Sinstadt, and in recent years, we sadly lost Tony Gubba.

Today’s generation of fans missing out, but there are still a few good ones out there on various different broadcasting networks knocking about.

I’m no good at telling who is who until I hear some of their commentary. I just found a random Motson clip and instantly recognised him of course. A great commentator. A real shame that we won’t be hearing him anymore but as you said Nine, time catches up with everybody.
