Why is Ange considered good enough for United and not for Liverpool?
Alonso, Amorim, Arne, Gary O’Neil, De Zerbi were all spoken about. But not Ange.

6th May 2024 at 12:46 pm #214446So taking on loan before Angie with an obligation to buy whether Angie wanted them or not? Think that’s a bit harsh saying they’re Angie’s signings… π sure, maybe “technically”, but then again, the 115 are “technically” innocent too… π π π
From a Spud perspective… fair to say we all enjoyed the first 10 games before it all imploded against the Jammy Todgers, and even then, not many thought about a title charge (although we all might have thought Top 4 was a distinct possibility)… after that, with injuries to some in form players, and with no Euro Footy and early exits to the Cups (and Africa/Asia tournys) we were all over the place all season (yes, I know other teams have the same problems!)….
At the start of the season I would have been happy with Euro footy at the end of it, yes, a little bit disappointed over the last month or so… a lot of players are badly all over the place… and absolutely yes, not replacing Kane with an “out and out” striker has come back to bite us in the Arsenal, but hoepfully we’ll still end up with Europa League out of this…

6th May 2024 at 1:17 pm #214448Well, United pulled off something against us. That is the latest in the few shock-shock-horror-horror that will stick with me for the rest on my life. All because Endo and Elliot couldn’t sort it between them from the corner.
The counter-attack seems to have suited United, throwing on Antony in the second half and extra pace knowing the opposition players will have already tire and wouldn’t quite carry the same level of focus.

6th May 2024 at 1:38 pm #214449Feel a bit for De Zerbi. Has a lot about him in terms of playing direct attacking football. Like many however, lots of injuries and resulting to key players being forced out: Ferguson, Solly-March, Estipinan. Plus, not a lot of Mitoma either.
Good team to watch when all the players are fit and playing.

6th May 2024 at 2:32 pm #214453Nil-I understand that, and especially not playing Maddison is criminal. But he needs time and money to spend on his own players, and fully supported for a few seasons. Not even the Spanish boldie with his hundreds of billions could have done it better.

6th May 2024 at 2:38 pm #214454Goose, in Angie’s defence, Madder’s had been playing like a 3-legged donkey in the 6 or so games prior to being dropped… although I very strongly suspect he’ll be starting against Burnley at the weekend… and hopefully Sonny on the left, Richy down the middle, and I’ll let Angie choose right-wing… π

6th May 2024 at 2:53 pm #214455Kylie-Knew there were reasons for not playing Maddison, otherwise he is a regular starter! Obviously I don’t watch Spurs every week.

6th May 2024 at 3:55 pm #214457To be honest, he never really showed that early season form after the ankle injury… flashes here and there, but like many Spuds, it went the way of the Dele as we like to say in our house!

How far (in your opinion have united fallen down the pecking order?)
liverpool are way in front of united at this moment in time. This was posted in the local united fanzine π

6th May 2024 at 5:06 pm #214462Ed I only quoted what ETH had spent after CM quoted what Ange had spent.

6th May 2024 at 5:48 pm #214464Still think putting loans with obligations to buy under Conte’s watch on Angie’s tab is a bit cheeky… reckon Angie’s only spent about 115… π

6th May 2024 at 5:58 pm #214466PPT-
So you think the managers who I listed would not join United? Besides from Alonso because of his Liverpool links and who also rejected Liverpool, I think the club could get any of them.
Not sure what Ratcliffe saw at Old Trafford and Carrington has got to do with this.
Anyway I rather support United the way they are now rather than support a club who have been pimped out to rich Arabs and treat the club like a whore house to divert attention away from their sleaziness. Cannot wait for the Netflix documentary when it all comes coming down Blatter style.
About Spurs, my point was Ange has had more money to spend compared to any of his predecessors. Did I say something wrong?

No I understand what you did Paul. I’m just struggling to understand the relevance of what Ten Hag has spent when Ange was the topic being discussed π. Why Ten Hag? Why not Poch for example?

If Amrabat is bought in the summer and United have a new manager by then. It will come under the new manager imo. π
Were the 2 players obliged to buy because I thought there was always an option to pull out if the manager didn’t want them. Similar to that LB United took off Spurs who is now at Brentford.

6th May 2024 at 6:06 pm #214469Somehow mentioning Ange and his performances as Spurs manager is how somehow comparable to the state of Carrington and Old Trafford, how much Ten Hag has spent and whether Gary O’Neil, Amorim(linked to West Ham btw), Arne are good enough for United because Ange wasn’t deemed good enough to be linked to Liverpool.

6th May 2024 at 6:22 pm #214470It’s silly CM. There’s seemingly no topic which doesn’t end in “but look at Utd, though”. I wouldn’t mind but we’re our own club’s biggest critics so I’m not sure of the point which is attempting to be proven.
“Fulham weren’t great last night”
“Yeah but Utd were even worse 3 weeks ago!” π ._____________________________

6th May 2024 at 6:41 pm #214471There are loans with the “option to buy”, like we have with Werner (and I hope the option is “NO”), and there are loans with obligation to buy, like we had with Porro & Co.. (it’s bending to the rules to the point of taking the piss… surprised a 115 fan doesn’t get that!)
