No fans to gee us and our Anfield record of late in any competition has been freak.
The away goal is a slender hope. We’ve been in this situation before and we’ve known to have made comebacks, but I don’t feel at the moment too hopeful.
Our attitude to defending needs to change. We getting beaten on height, counter attacking play and a cross that we can’t deal with.

As I alluded to on the recent Liverpool thread, we just aren’t a very robust side under Klopp. Take the press away, or certain players/loss of form, and he just keeps sticking to to the same tactics. We desperately more variety. I hoped Keita would have provided that. But he obviously hasn’t.

Essentially, if we’re not pressing and we don’t have our essential players that give us Leadership and we’re not set up with tactical discipline, then our Identity is stripped.

What a deflating night that was! None of them could pas to a red shirt, misplacing simple balls, there was no energy, no aggression, no leadership. Not one of them can say they performed to anywhere near their optimum level, and frankly with the score being only 3-1, I feel we got away with it a bit. There will have to be a vast improvement for the 2nd leg, but as 9 says above, I can’t see Real not scoring themselves.
Allison recently has been playing like a bang average keeper when we know he’s not, Trent and Robbo are shadows of last season’s versions of themselves, Gini looked like his mind was already at the Nou Camp, Mane looks like the victim of having played far too much football over the last 2 years, Philipps looked like the lower Premiership/upper Championship player that really he is, and arguably, Naby Keita has played his last game for Liverpool as everyone’s patience must have run out by now.

Massive mountain to climb for Liverpool. Can’t see then going through. Liverpool have gone from needing to put everything into the CL to needing to put everything into the league again if they want CL football again next season

If they struggle to rhythm a few passes, then what are doing in the training sessions? I wonder if the players are overworked in training. They were disjointed or didn’t have any belief at all.
They should be fired up. No presence of fans, nothing vocal because there’s nobody on the pitch; Henderson a huge loss as with Van Dijk. The other players easily trampled over.
I don’t know what we’re about but every other game, the body language suggests they want this season to a closure.
