Ciry can’t play themselves adlab mate ! so rule has always been whoever finishes 2nd play in charity shield if one team has done the double

I suspect if Sane plays this weekend he will stay at City, if he isn’t even on the bench it means B Munich and City are talking. Adlab, weve got to play someone and Liverpool were the best of the rest in the league. Alternatively it could be Watford or Chelsea I supose.

Treble Winners v European Champions sounds a good curtain raiser to the Season to me in the Community Shield. Looking forward to it.

What is certain is that if you win the charity shield it’s a proper trophy, but if you lose its just a friendly and doesn’t count. 😉

Jim, ha, ha, very true mate.

Tbh I’ve always seen it as a bit of a glorified friendly nice to win but not a disaster if you don’t.

Importantly it’s a day out at Wembley but you lads have been there so often lately it’s almost like a second home for you.😊

Best of luck to both teams as a neutral I’m just hoping for a great game. Cheers 999

Yeah agree with that Mav but if you lose its not like losing a Cup Final imo. But obviously you want to win it. Difficult game to call though.

There’s a lot of needle between these two sides now. So I don’t see how it could be considered a “friendly”.

Me too Mav. The only problem for me is that it clashes with Bristol City v Leeds. I’m not going
to the B.C. game on Sunday but my son and Grandsons are.

    Thank goodness for Sky record.😊

Generally agree with that Nine (and didn’t mean to sound curt in my response) but just saying what with the rivalry between the two sides now, it’s hard to view it as a friendly. Any time these two face each other now, they’ll want to lay down a marker and say ‘we’re better than you!’
