Pot 1 (club coefficient ranking): Manchester United (14), Paris Saint-Germain (6), Roma (30), Barcelona (3), Liverpool (32), Manchester City (8), Besiktas (28), Tottenham Hotspur (21).
Pot 2: Basel (20), Bayern Munich (4), Chelsea (15), Juventus (5), Sevilla (7), Shakhtar Donetsk (16), Porto (12), Real Madrid (1).
So who can play who?
Manchester United finished top of Group A and will face Bayern Munich (4), Juventus (5), Sevilla (7), Shakhtar Donestk (16), Porto (12) or Real Madrid (1).
Chelsea finished second in Group C and will face Paris Saint-Germain (6), Barcelona (3) or Besiktas (28).
Liverpool finished top of Group E and will face Basel (20), Bayern Munich (4), Juventus (5), Shakhtar Donetsk (16), Porto (12) or Real Madrid (1).
Manchester City finished top of Group F and will face Basel (20), Bayern Munich (4), Juventus (5), Sevilla (7), Porto (12) or Real Madrid (1).
Tottenham finished top of Group H and will face Basel (20), Bayern Munich (4), Juventus (5), Sevilla (7), Shakhtar Donetsk (16) or Porto (12).
Seeded group winners will be away in the round of 16 first legs on 13/14 and 20/21 February and at home in the return matches on 6/7 and 13/14 March.

Looking at those opponents and possibilities, Basel looks tough so I’d much rather we had one of the big guns. Even Donetsk isn’t easy.

As goat says there are no easy teams in the Round of 16 also there’s a lot of water that will flow under the Bridge between now and February when the Round of 16 is played including the January transfer window.

Now, now Tash-monster, Paxo is only pointing out the Real Madrid of this year is nothing like the Real Madrid that won the European Cup the last two years, all their players are past it, none of them can last 90 minutes anymore and as Spuds took 4 from 6 of them last month, they are obviously past it. Paxo is only repeating the common theme from the cyber warriors on here. Considering how crap Spuds were playing last month, I would have thought all you superior teams would be wishing for them… easy peasy!! 🙂

I think if you want to win an elite cup. then you have to face the elite. sooner or later we may face the usual suspects. i don’t think if any team will be happy to just draw at Chelsea. but that said i hope a kind draw.
