No one I’ve ever seen live and in the flesh including both Ronaldo and Best could imo touch Best in his pomp but it’s tough making judgements on players from different eras. They were all great players.

cm-I dont remember Best but CR7 does not come even close to Giggs,let alone be the best player for United.

Cantona for me, on the basis he took his team to a whole new level and in my humble opinion was the catalyst for a couple of decades of dominance… a lot more impact that that Terry bloke for the Goonies… who would be 2nd.

Have to agree with Banjo. Cantona was so important to United, and what he brought to the club was a belief and confidence that rubbed off on the entire club from top to bottom.

Ronaldo was great, but his first three season he was a lot of tricks with not that much end product. He became a worldbeater eventually at United, but he didn’t quite have the impact that Cantona did.

Henry developed into a worldclass striker and had his prime at Arsenal. He deserves a shout too.

We tend to only mention attacking players. How about Hyypia at Liverpool? What a great defender.

Problem with Hyypia, as great as he was, did he put as many pots in the cupboard though? I know Pool won a few cups but they were knock-outs… still think at the end of the day, the League is still the big-one in my eyes, and to be considered the best import, you need to have a few of those in your locker…
