Been busy so just catching up. Yes no doubt city are getting all the calls lately, I don’t think anyone can deny that, however it wasn’t so long ago Mo went through a phase of hitting the deck when a defender breathed on him & it no doubt helped us get a coupe of points so as a LFC fan we cannot complain. I am with chucks & absolutely despise the cheats, they are the biggest blight on the game IMO.
BB, I find it pretty much impossible to fathom a city fan complaining about depth, it beggars belief for me so the only thing I’ll say on this ( I’ve done it to death this season) is compare your bench players to other clubs mate & you’ll see you have no complaint to make. Seriously Delph, Mahrez, Jesus & Sane, yep your struggling for depth haha.

Yeah Sean, I recon it’s nailed on city or manu for us ?. I think we would go better with a team outside England regardless of who it is. Either way we’ve done excellent to reach these late stages once again.

Yeah Mikus good call re the pressure, I really hope we have more of a crack now. As I’ve been saying lately it’s better to go down swinging. The EPL title is out of our hands & I look at the run in & can see nothing but another title for city. Lets take off the shackles that have been on recently & just go at everyone.
The C/L is where I think our best chance of success is, IMO the 2 leg scenario suits us better. I’ll go sleep deprived again if we start having a crack, it’s entertaining & we are good at it.

Mav I’d love for us to win one of the “little” cups mate, the FA Cup is what I grew up loving & what got me following Liverpool. Seeing Craig Johnston score in a final & my pop (RIP legend) saying “that bloke that just scored is an Aussie mate” got me hooked on the reds. Sadly we don’t have the depth to compete on all fronts & I’d rather still be in the C/L & EPL at this late stage.

BB that you do mate & I agree the C/L is the most unpredictable with the 2 legs adding another element. As I keep saying though depth is king over numerous competitions & you lot have way more than anyone else.

Jeez where has this away form been in recent weeks? Very good clinical display from our lads & to have 4 EPL teams at this stage of the competition is amazing. IMO the C/L suits us better with these 2 leg games are our best chance of winning a trophy so I hope we continue to perform.

Nil fair points mate, We limped out of the minor cups but very excited to see us progress in the C/L & pushing city in the EPL. I suppose they are the big ones & we are still kicking in both so you can’t ask for much more than that.

Yeah nine complaining probably not the right word but I’m sure you get what I mean.
Chucky they State of Origin isn’t anything like it used to be, they’ve taken the biffo & shoulder charge out of the game, it’s nowhere near as brutal as it used to be. The game is way too structured these days & has lost a lot of fans as a result. Still very good athletes but bloody robots with no ad lib plays any more, all sticking to structures.

You city lads complaining about the amount of games you play makes me laugh, it’s like here in rugby league the top teams always complain about having a lot of players out to play state of origin in comparison to other clubs. They wouldn’t be in this position if they didn’t have the best players & in the case of city, the amount of quality in depth is why they’re continually playing in cup finals etc. Their 2nd string team is better than a lot of 1st teams of other clubs.

I don’t know about just topping up mate. A creative goal scoring mid is essential IMO. We lack goals from the midfield & a player to link up going forward. Problem is there is only a handful of them around so getting 1 would be a problem.
Up top is also very thin but Klopp doesn’t really rely on a traditional 9 for goals so we need a quality player for up top that can play across the front line. I think we have 2 pretty good C/B’s & 1 obviously worldy in VVD but fullbacks is a different kettle of fish again.
We need some quality back up players because as we are seeing now depth is what will get you over the line over a full season. city have top back up players in all areas, hence winning pretty much everything or being there abouts.
The real problem is this is the best squad & manager we’ve had for many many seasons & we are still going to win nothing, city will definitely strengthen again so we are forever playing catch up.

On this title talk I’ll mention any names but the team that will win it wear light blue shirts at home games & have the most expensive squad in EPL history (who’d think that’d be the case). Some of us presicted this back in December. Next weeks lotto numbers to follow.

Just seen a replay of the game, Lallana was very good, Salah made a few half chances but just lacks that end product of last season, being a pass or shot. VBD was excellent & the rest pretty much done well without excelling. TAA got skinned a couple of times by that young fella, McNally or something like that I think it was. All in all a deserved win without anything spectacular. I’d certainly take 8 more of those in the EPL.
