I think you’re right Ed and agree it will be a big mistake just taking us even further away from where we need to be and harder and longer to catch up

Hell of an interview by Kane with Garry Neville and from the horse’s mouth he has made it clear his ambitions outstrip Spurs and he wants to play in a team that will let him fulfill those ambitions.

You could tell that these were a lot more than rumours to all this by the width and depth of all those reporting it.

Kane still has 3 years on his contract with Spurs so at some point Levy has to agree to let him go currently all roads seem to lead to City and there are suggestions of Jesus, Ake, and a substantial fee?

Personally I will be suprised if Kane is not at City for the start of next season but there will be a few hurdles to jump before then for it to happen and if it happens as seems likely everyone else is playing for second place.

Yeah certainly looks like City, if anywhere, Nine. Bad news for the rest of us. Is the Super League still accepting new applications? 😁. The only silver lining in all this would be that it definitely removes City from the list of clubs fighting for Haaland for his release clause next summer.

I wish you guys would stop upsetting me with Kane to City!!!. He does not possess a raincoat for one or maybe an umbrella Manchester weather can be bettered anywhere and I am a Mancunian!!!!! I just cannot see Kane fitting City Plan A, B or C and Pep will not change tactics, even for Messi!!!!

As Part Exchange. I would say Mendy, Cancello,Jesus, Sterling…all had there chances and £50 million cash plus some Morrison points I have collected, Found some Green Shield books I could put in….are they any good now??? Antiques fair maybe but that would be Mr Levy problem

Still a difficult transfer to pull off even for City imo.

Will the players offered in part exchange suit the new Spurs Manager whoever he is and Spurs have yet to even get a new Manager. And then there’s the Levy factor I can see Levy agreeing to let Kane go thus maintaining the gentleman’s agreement but possibly putting a price of circa £200m on Kane’s head.

I’ve certainly never seen a top top player being so explicit about leaving his Club especially given he’s got three years left on his contract, certainly his latest quotes suggest City are his preferred destination.

“Harry Kane has said he wants to stay in the Premier League and has encouraged interest from Manchester City by naming “striker’s dream” Kevin De Bruyne as the player he would most like to play in front of.

City are thought to be at the front of the queue if Kane leaves Tottenham this summer, with the England captain having said he wants to have “a conversation” with the club about his future and insisted he will decide his fate, not Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Kane, who is 28 in July, has three years remaining on his Spurs contract but has formally asked to leave his boyhood club, and believes he has a gentleman’s agreement with Levy to allow him to go for the right offer in the off-season.” Standard 21/05

City are among the few clubs with the resources to test Spurs’ resolve not to sell and can offer Kane a shot at the team

“Wolves have revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo will leave the club at the end of the season, prompting speculation that he might join Tottenham.”

                            Interesting ?

Nuno meets the attacking football requirement but is he really the real deal? I’m not sure. If I was a Spurs fan I would prefer Hansi Flick or Rodgers if gettable?

Think Rogers has already said he’s staying at Leicester 9’s.
I really don’t see why City would buy Kane considering he will be 28 by the start of next season, and it has taken nearly every player we have signed under Pep 12 months minimum to learn the system – the only notable exception being Diaz – but all others, even those signed from other EPL teams like Mahrez, have taken 12 months minimum to fit in, learn their role, and achieve any sort of form – which means Kane would, in all likelihood, be 29 by the time he fits in at City – he would have no resale value whatsoever – he is as injury prone as Aguero has been these last few seasons, despite his relatively younger age, and he seldom plays much more than 40 games a season (48 this season is his most since 2015/16) – Man City will play 61 games again this season, and regularly do, and although no player plays all the games its likely that Kane would play 40-45, meaning he will not be available for probably 30% of City’s games. City need to look for a replacement for Aguero who was bought at 22 and has given his all over 10 years for the club; if we are gonna spend big I see no sense in buying a player who is at his peak now and only going to get worse over the length of his next contract. Buying Kane for big money looks just like when Utd bought Van Persie, a fantastic player who practically won them the title the very next season and then had little or no impact for the next few years as his age caught up with him and Utd couldn’t get him off the books. If City buy Kane (who is only 4 years younger than Aguero) it has to be for a good price (£75M tops) but if they intend to spend big it has to be Haaland or Mbappe for me (assuming of course either of them want to come to City). Don’t get me wrong Kane is brilliant and any club would jump at the chance, but for the money being talked about (£100M + players or £150M cash) it just doesn’t stack up for me. Sorry Chucky, no offence meant but I’d give you £75M + Mendy best offer. Because of that I think Utd are best placed to get him, they have a number of forwards who need moving on – I could see them bidding cash plus Martial, who may actually come good if he played week in week put.

If he wants out then let him go. Get the best deal for the club and let him move on. I never wanted to keep a player no matter how big he was if he wanted to go.

Mike, I think Kane would flourish at city. I get the style argument but city create so many chances and Kane is a clinical finisher . I hope if he does go the fans don’t turn on him as I’m sorry to say, he’s far to good for spurs and they are going no were at the minute

As for utd, I think they can afford him but it will mean a lot less game time for cavani. I know his game time will need to be managed but Kane will start every game unless we are talking fa or carding cup.

It’s going to take crazy money. I don’t think Nuno is the answer for spurs either. Wolves problem was always in attack. They are far to defensive under him but he did an absolutely amazing job there

Spurs are in a right state yet again and I’m not sure who the answer managerial wise is now

I think Nuno should have left Wolves earlier when his stock was higher. Now they’ve struggled this season, his reputation will have been affected.

Mike..you are right about Kane and City. I hope City invest in a younger player, maybe not the two likely candidates but there are a few out there that could well for us but my thinking is Pep may go for another strong midfielder and do without a striker again. I would love Augerro to be 22 yr old again! Kane would be OK for me but certainly not at the price being floated…I would say 75 million tops as well, plus a player maybe but not one that is currently performing. I think Kane would do better in La Liga. Also think Utd will come up with the money like they always do.I also liken it to City’s Rodney Marsh experience. I just wish it would go away and somebody sign him

Mike, yeah I saw that too I did say “if gettable” I agree highly unlikely given what Rodger’s has said although there were some reports today saying that if Leicester don’t make the CL Spurs will try again currently though it seems that Spurs are up to their 4th/5th choice managerial choices.

Difficult to predict where Kane might go or ultimately whether he’ll even go at all but right now according to the media City are favourites as Sean says though despite Kane’s age and limited to no resale value he would score plenty of goals for City.

Time will tell but as I said in my previous post whatever the Club it will be a difficult transfer to pull off for anyone.

Lazio and Juventus are on Gattuso, but the news of the day is that Tottenham have put Gattuso on the list of candidates for the next coach.

“The English club have been dealing with Antonio Conte for a month, but now also like Gattuso.
