Ed, there have been glimpses of the player Harvertz could be but it’s only been 12 League games he’s only 21 playing in a different League in a different country for a new Club and he’s had Covid too.
Currently he’s not living up to his billing but he needs to play centrally not in a wide position.
Time will be his judge and as my School reports often said “must do better”!😊

In Germany Harvertz was always regarded as a pretty versatile player. He predominantly played as a 10 but some experts thought he future could have been as an 8. The new Ballack was the slightly predictable name given. He also occasionally played as a false 9 as a bit of a Firmino style forward. I don’t think he ever played on the wings.
Was he Lampard’s choice? Surely Frank and his scouting team would know where he plays best and how to fit him in their system. At the moment it looks like he is being played to justify the purchase and a bit of a square peg in a round hole.

Harvertz is OK but so far nothing special but give the guy a chance to settle. Tome will tell. There are plenty who take a season to come to terms with English football.

Harvertz only played wide right yesterday because of the injuries to Ziyech, Pulasic and Hudson Odoi. Lampard from what he’s said sees Havertz in the Number 8 or Number 10 role which is where he has predominantly played.
Not that it really matters either way but seemingly Frank was quite integral to the Harvertz signing “that worked very well for me with Frank from the start. The talks were very good and it didn’t take me long to sign for Chelsea because of him.”

Well done to Southampton going up to 3rd place a point ahead of Chelsea now and one point behind current PL leaders Spurs.
What a job Ralph Hasenhuttl is doing at Southampton I wonder if they can hang on to him past this season.

And they held their nerve Nine last season when Leicester beat them 9-0. Many other clubs would have gone on to sack him. Very well run club who deserve success at some point but alas they constantly get cherry picked!

Threeps was right with that leaked team. That’s a very strong team given our injuries. The worry of course is that if we get any other injuries in literally any position, we’ll be taking a serious weakness, as we’re all out of cover.

The old boy with the cheeses cutter and the glasses behind the Spurs goal was funny celebrating the Palace goal his glasses were so misted up probably because of his mask I doubt he saw the goal but he celebrated it well.😊
