Why don’t Salah ever switch flanks if he’s being marked or go deep? We’re one dimensional at the moment and Luton to be fair to them and contained us this first half.

Just had a feeling we might struggle today. I think we can see why Nunez hasn’t generally been starting games. I think he’s a better impact player when a game has loosened up a bit. I think Salah has been too wide and he’s a bit wasted there. We sort of saw that last season for me and we became disjointed up top.
And then Nunez balloons it over. Him in a nut shell that.

I think Salah or Jota would have been better down the middle. I think we’ve sacrificed both of them for Nunez who I’m afraid just can’t be relied upon, even if he does score the odd screamer. Also, if Diaz was going to play today, why wait until the 83rd minute before he came on??

I just don’t think Nunez can be relied upon starting centrally in a 433 system. It also seems to force Salah and others too far wide where they’re not as effective. I think we saw this at times last season. Had Klopp felt he could have started Diaz with Nunez on the bench to come on later, we’d have probably won this comfortably.

Nunez could have a reel of misses which would probably be unrivalled in world football. I think he’s overtaken Timo Werner in that respect. He must be such a frustrating player to have on your team.
This weekend has just confirmed to us all that City are just a class above any other side. There’s City then a group of 3 or 4 teams who are decent but far too inconsistent.

Indeed Ed, I just don’t know what you do with him. There’s clearly talent there, but at the moment he looks like an expensive impact player who comes on later in a game. I think we saw today why he generally doesn’t start games.

Without even bringing the Tottenham game into the equation, that’s 4 points dropped against Luton and Brighton. This would place us Top Of The Table right now.
Had this with Brentford back in 2022. We need to work a system to get the best out of our attack; too many in the kitchen.
But what we haven’t addressed properly is our defense. We struggle when Robertson is out. We don’t need to necessarily spend huge, but just bring in somebody consistent and can do a job. Look at Livramento yesterday. We’re flogging a dead horse with Gomez. Trent will always stray into the midfield.
