5th March 2026 at 10:23 am #240854Yeah right β¦ expect us to get absolutely rinsed because Villa are another physical side who canβt stop running.. after getting thrashed by Chelsea they will use us as a springboard
Expect the same line up from Carrick and i wonβt be surprised if Beard man goes back to No.9 and Sesko back to the bench even though it should be the other way.

5th March 2026 at 11:12 am #240862Oh shut up Dee! We can’t win every bloody game.
We have a nice break now so the likes of Shaw and Casemiro can recharge those old legs and i’d be amazed if Carrick doesn’t get everyone bang up for this game – it needs to be like a final! Villa are away at Lille on the Thursday night and then at Old Trafford on Sunday for a 2pm kick off. So if we’re not at least 20% faster, stronger and fitter than them then there is something drastically wrong!
Expecting a 2-0 win for this one._____________________________

5th March 2026 at 12:00 pm #240880Killy I thought Newcastle played really well, especially Joelington,Tonali,Gordon, and Barnes. They were missing Livramento and Guimaraes, plus had a man sent off!

5th March 2026 at 12:01 pm #240881We really should and ought to be beating this Villa team,as they are struggling big time currently.

9th March 2026 at 11:58 am #241097Happy Mate β¦ your delusions are bordering on Grandeur β¦ only a silly bugger will expect to win every game and only a twat would not expect to win against 10man NewCastle who have played twice as much games more than us so far this season and conceded 3goals against Everton then go on to absolutely dominate us for up to 80mins.
We played 1game a week and Casemiro, Shaw etc still moved like oil tankers so i wonder where you got the assumption of them having fresh legs ala 20% faster, fitter and stronger.
We need the 3pts else we will most likely be down to 6th which is unacceptable.

10th March 2026 at 9:24 am #241119Dee – The “fresh legs” thing seems to be a bit of a myth doesn’t it. I think teams actually seem to hit a better stride when they’re playing twice a week. If you look at teams like Brighton they always seem to have a dip in the second half of the season after New Year – and they don’t have midweek games so should be “fresher and fitter” shouldn’t they.
New manager bounce normally wears off around now because teams figure out what the manager is doing – and Carrick is doing exactly the same thing every single game, the way he did at Boro!_____________________________

10th March 2026 at 10:36 am #241120@happy, the players can’t have it both ways, there was a narrative going around that the likes of Shaw and Casemiro weren’t capable of playing two games a week. Now they’re down to one, most weeks at least, and they still can’t do it and they seem to have put out the narrative that the reason they’re so slow to get started in games is the fact that they’re only playing once a week. They’ve absolutely no excuses, you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

10th March 2026 at 1:55 pm #241129Spot on Killy; itβs just excuses for a group of lazy shite footballers.
Also Happy Mate; Carrick tried the same thing over n over whilst at Boro and it didnβt work yet somehow he thinks it will work at United. If anything that just further proves how tactically inept he is as a Manager.

10th March 2026 at 7:38 pm #241159I think perhaps that Happy is referring more to β match sharpnessβ when heβs on about only playing one game a week to ten days. Which I can understand if thatβs the point.

11th March 2026 at 1:01 pm #241211Diggy – Correct! Confidence is the most important thing in football but after that its probably momentum isn’t it. Pretty hard to get that when you’re only in 1 competition and playing the least amount of football available in an entire season.
But there are no excuses for this game against Villa. Carrick needs to get them right up for it from the start and go after this Villa team. Otherwise Emery might just be the man replacing him in about 3 months time!_____________________________
