M Mike, Agree Mate. Feel Aggrieved by that and can’t really make any Excuses for the Ref as he has VAR for Support. Disappointed and spoiled it for me so far in Context of the Match.

Hey Nike, I’ve no issue with the ref getting it wrong, he only sees it once at full speed, it happens, but VAR has been sold to us as sorting out these issues and it isn’t, instead it’s solving problems that weren’t really problems before whilst steadfastly refusing to get involved in what many supporters think is the biggest issue…diving. It completely ruins games for me.

The France penalty – I think in real time it looked like a deliberate block by the Portuguese defender. I don’t think it was deliberate but Mbappe was running at pace and caught Portugal off guard who were inevitably clumsy in dealing with it. So I’m more 50-50 with it.

Come on guys, any center forward on the planet would have gone down like that and give the Ref a decision to make, he made a meal of it, but it was deliberate obstruction…
Anyway, no comments about the other lad milking it for what it was worth? They just showed a clip on my TV with him doing the peeking between his fingers and looking at the bench before continuing to roll over with a broken neck that suddenly got better when the peno was confirmed… 🙂

Can’t figure why these keepers always try to punch the ball out instead of catching it, when I used to fill in on ocassions as a keeper I would always catch the ball doesn’t matter if I could or would fall on my face or if there was any element of danger.

We can beat Germany neither them nor France or Portugal have looked too great, Belgium and Italy are the sides to watch though I think should they win their next round games they play each other. So maybe the luck is with England.

Can anyone explain to me how they choose which teams play third placed teams? I see France, Netherlands and Belgium are the teams that play third placed teams. For me, it seems logical that both Belgium and Netherlands play third placed teams as they have the most points of all the 1st placed teams. However, France baffles me. They finished top of their group on 5 points! Italy got 9 points and have to play a second placed team!
Also, why do 2 second placed teams play each other? Spain and Croatia?
