27th May 2026 at 5:55 pm #247164Like I said this depends on financials.
Does he have a relegation release clause?Weโre gonna lose a lot of experienced players this summer.
Does no harm bringing in 1 or 2 more experienced players that can help with that especially when they can play more than one position well.Again to repeat, this depends if it financially makes sense too.
Although I could see someone like Bowen start 20 games across all comps and appearances off the bench in many more across the 2 positions._____________________________

27th May 2026 at 6:31 pm #247167I seriously doubt we will go for anyone older than 25 this summer.

27th May 2026 at 8:12 pm #247174Donโt get why we havenโt gone in for him? Itโs what weโre lacking out wide.
Or maybe the relationship with Newcastle is not the bestโฆ?

27th May 2026 at 8:16 pm #247175Barca can get Rashford for 30 million, this is bollocks, they canยดt afford that deal when they need a new striker to come in for Lewandowski. Bayern have shown some interest in him as well and I reckon it is between us and them but if Bayern are in for him then that might mean someone from there is available.

27th May 2026 at 8:26 pm #247177From my understanding we really want Barcola for the left side. He can also play right.
Gordon obviously plays left side also but can also play centrally. And heโs home grown.
Previously weโve let other clubs do the stalking only to sweep in when everythingโs agreed.
With our relationship with Newc maybe not the best after last summer this may not be a bad tactic IF we really are interested in him._____________________________

27th May 2026 at 11:56 pm #247194Bilbao kid? he signed a long term contract there, probably gonna follow into his brothers footsteps and captain the side one day. He will have his big move if he wants later on but for now it would cost over 150 million to get him I reckon. I respect the kid for staying and not moving to Barca or any other club.
Ginger I donยดt think Rashford wants back to United, he might be prepared to drop his wage demands for a good move that cements him again as a player. He did not have a bad season in Spain, 14 goals and 14 assists in 2600 minutes is not that bad. Itยดs a goal or a assist every other game.
Barca are just playing hardball and putting the message out there that there are other options than him if he does not lower his wage demands. It would be a very bad footballing decision if he opted out from a move there because of wages.
Gordon is also on a hefty contract at Newcastle, I doubt he would lower his wage demands, he is on 150k a week according to reports, most likely want a salary increase with his next contract.
Like I doubt he would sign for us for less than 250k a week.

28th May 2026 at 5:44 am #247196Seems Diomande might not be happening, so we are all on for Barcola. But Barcola for the right? He’s mainly a left sided player. There’s a shortage of elite level or potentially elite attackers that mainly operate on the right that are attainable.
Would likely mean Gakpo stays. In out title winning season Gakpo was actually very good. His problem is he is a one trick pony, come inside and shoot from the edge of the box. He doesn’t beat a man, doesn’t get to the byline, doesn’t create, doesn’t do really much apart from that one trick. But for that to work he needs others to create space and time for him and with Slot having the team move the ball so slow giving defences time to organise his one trick no longer works.
Why Rio has looked good, he can beat a man and make space even if the defence is settled. This might be controversial but I think this has tinted people’s view on him as the 2nd coming of John Barnes or something. He actually doesn’t have a lot of end product, often loses the ball, and is poor defensively. He is young so of course has potential to improve. Should be used as a impact sub, not a regular starter, not yet. Reminds me a little of a left sided Ben Gannon-Doak.

28th May 2026 at 8:00 am #247198I agree on rio threeps. Huge potential there but i think people go overboard. Cant be 1st choice. Still so young loads of time to develop
Id have taken gordon. Cant play all 3 positions but he needs to get to tye next level with numbers. Works hard and lightening.Again injured a bit and to inconsistent. Genuinely huge lack of talant in football tonight. Not one player we are linked with and excites me. Just mediocre players who people go overboard about.
Just havent seen enough of barcola but hes never stood out in games ive watched.
Gakpo is foot 4 and he is weak. He should have players bouncing iff him. We lack severe physicality in the team and hes not a player along with a load of others who you would want to go to war with.

28th May 2026 at 9:34 am #247202This potential Gordon deal looks strange.
ยฃ60mil plus add ons for an English international 25yr old with 4yrs left on his contract who just scored 17 goals this season?
Seems remarkably cheap.
Is there a Barca player about to go the other way?

28th May 2026 at 10:55 am #247211Rumours or not at the time, but I’m sure there was like a 100 million asking price when we enquired about Gordon last year. The guy has pace and determination to follow through a threat.
I don’t know what was going on, but at the time it seemed our pursuit then was more towards Florian Wirtz. I keep thinking now, he’d be better suited at Arsenal if they were to let go of Trossard.

28th May 2026 at 11:29 am #247220Pace needs space and we don’t create any under Slot so not sure Gordon would be suited. We need trickery, someone who can make their own space and produce at the end if it, hence I think Barcola and Diomande would be better.

28th May 2026 at 11:46 am #247221I actually dont think anyone will suit us under slot and cant see any new signings developing under slot.
I wont keep going on about that.

28th May 2026 at 12:09 pm #247225And this is my worry, and has been all season.
We dont move the ball fast or direct enough to free up the attacking players.
Rarely have we seen it this past season.
Take our Brentford goal, ball moved quick and directly into space for Salah who picks out the oncoming runner in Jones to tap it in.
That was excedingly rare for us this past season.Unless we move the ball quickly into space for our attackers I fear a lot of players will struggle just like Salah and Gakpo has done this season.

28th May 2026 at 12:28 pm #247227Can’t disagree with any of those comments. Looks like we’ve gone compact as well.
Easy really for opposition to congestion us. Any wonder why we dont find space and everything then becomes pedestrian?!
Definitely need a dribbler and somebody aggressive.
