Harvey Elliot, Ben Doak and Bajcetic joined with less than 100 games and all featured for rhe senior squad. All 3 good examples that a player shouldn’t join an elite team at that age, increase your experience and profile elsewhere like Bournemouth then get that top level contract at a top club.

Rayan signed for pennies compared to what we’d be willing to pay now…its a bad way to operate, and costly.

Nwaneri very young still but a decent amount of games under his belt of top flight football.
More of an attacking midfielder but does have approx 25 appearances as a right sided attacker.
Which is considerably more than some of the players we have currently and more than some we are targeting/have been linked with._____________________________

I think the story/video on Curtis Jones getting into a bit of a tizzy post-match has been blown out of proportion a bit. The only relevance it has to me is that if it was to do with him not getting passed the armband – and no other explanation has been offered – then it says that he’s not personally planning to jet off to Milan anytime soon. If he was, then why give a toss about not getting the armband for the closing minutes of a pre-season friendly? However, that’s not to say that the club may like a bid that comes our way and put pressure on him to accept it. Personally, I’d be happy to keep him as a squad player as ÂŁ30 million is nothing in today’s market and other teams with top 4 ambitions seem to have much bigger inflated squads than we do at the moment.

Red you are completely right there, it was just a friendly argument between friends, everyone involved with the incident was laughing and joking around in training together the day after.
I don´t want Jones gone, I always feel like he cares a bit more about the club than the other lads, I think he was upset about not receiving the armband and then pissed off at Tsimikas for dropping it. I think the whole argument was just about respecting the armband.
I´m actually happy with a player when they have a outburst like this, it´s not like anyone got hurt by a few words, like I don´t really consider Szoboszlai as captain material. He has too much of a ego for it IMHO.

unlike most posters here I don´t really wanna sell anyone, I think we are gonna be forced into selling Gakpo but that is about it, I don´t see a point in selling Jones or Macca right now. We might gain a few quid but that is about it, there is no football reason in selling them right now.
We need to give Macca some extra time off as he played 71 games last season, we should give some time to Van Dijk as well but that is a luxury we do not have, I think Gravy was next to them with 69 games.
Gakpo is only leaving if we sign Barcola, Barcola would fit the team for the next 5 years or more. So it would be a good trade off but that is the only transfer out I really see happening.
Jones can easily just stay another season and leave for free to any club he wants next season, so that is a smart move for him or he plays good enough to cement another contract, which I doubt will happen. Macca also just came back from one of the longest campaigns anyone has had at the club and by the looks of it he has a new haircut.
He is not thinking about a move right now, he just wants to chill for a few weeks and come back I reckon.

What I’m hearing is Barcola for next season will play RW and his recruitment has no bearing on Gakpo. Doesn’t mean Gakpo will stay or leave, just they are independent.
Can MacAllister or Jones be easily upgraded? Yes definitely, MacAllister maybe even with a profit. Then sell if the opportunity presents itself and it seems that could happen this summer.
