is he available though? He is not getting that much game time but he almost features in every game though for Madrid despite only getting 1200-1500 minutes in the league. That´s only around 45 minutes per game!

We need multiple options and choices that zone in on one player. There are plenty of players we can enquire about. We shouldn’t be going down the path we did last year shelling out unless he really is the finished article and has a good track record in staying fit.

Rob might be right that he is best suited to that left flank, Diomande can play on both wings so I´m not worried about where he fits in. I also like Wirtz in the pocket behind the striker but when someone else is running into his space it does not make much sense.
We can´t really make sense of how to best use him as our tactics were so freaking negative last season, Salah tracked back more than Gakpo last season. We have hardly realized how negative the team was setup, it was our worst season in 20 years or something. We lost what 20 games!!!
The whole the time Slot is alienating players, Salah, Wirtz, Robbo, Elliot the list covered half the squad.

Salah should never be asked to track back like he was asked to do last season. There is no metric you can provide that would convince me that Gakpo deserves to be in the first eleven. There is none, he is one of the most laziest players I´ve seen play for us in more than a decade. This is the only forward for the last 20-30 years that I actually just want gone from the team. I especially do not like how he responds to criticism from his team mates. He becomes so single minded. I have never stated that a forward that got the most game time should go. I always wanna sell from the bottom of the team but not in his case. That metric also just cover how many times they got recoveries, not how many times they attempted one. Which is far more important metric. Cause then you are putting pressure, Gakpo chooses his moments to join the pressure instead of going after them. He chooses to keep up his metrics by being lazy.
He is not gonna suddenly change his game style, he is still gonna be the greedy player he is, cut inside and nothing else. Cause every other thing he does fails. Every time he gets to the byline the cross fails, he can not work that left foot of his. I doubt he has more than 5 goals in his whole career with his left foot. Both his goals at the Marketing Cup are from the same fucking thing. Cutting inside on his right foot. The same with 97% of his goals for us. Cut inside. I know it´s not 97% but I am still stating 97% to emphasize my point. I remember one goal from him inside the box where he did not cut inside last season and it went it accidentally from his knee.
Macca I think Macca is leaving this summer, Romano just started posting about him yesterday, that should give us some leeway to give Szobo another contract. Cause I kind of feel like we have to pick one or the other and Szobo work rate dominates. Plus his set pieces are pretty good and he is a viable option for the armband.

A decision needs to be with Szoboszlai, not now but before the end of the window. Either he signs or the club looks to sell.
He’ll play as the runner in Iraola’s double pivot and for that role he can be upgraded with someone else.

I think he wants another deal, he would just be another player at Real and that is the only other club for him. He could actually excel for Barcelona as well, especially under Frink. It´s on Hughes to offer him a deal, I don´t think there are many upgrades on him actually. He can be a bit sloppy at times but overall his work rate is 2nd to none. We can´t doubt his technical abilities either.

Here’s a slightly deeper question for you all, would you be ok buying a player that has views/beliefs/life style that is very much something you object to? Does club success trump personal views?
We, along with a number of top clubs, have been linked with Nmecha. World Cup fever maybe, but he is a German internation at an already top team, plus home grown, but seems talented, so the links aren’t that surprising. But he has some views and beliefs that I just cannot abide, and he’s been very public in airing them. I am not sure I can cheer on a player who is the sort of person I actually really do not like. In fact I know I can’t, I would be very dissapointed if we bought such a player knowing what they are like.

@threeps its peoples life, its their prerogatives, they should do what they want as long as its legal in that country.
However, if someone turned up with neonazi, supremacist, genocidal, racist views… i would be disappointed that the club went down that path! Also, with all that Henderson and the club have done to kick out all kinda of discrimination from racism to promoting lgbtqi, i think personally we will survive without Nmecha.

Chelsea will most likely sell Enzo and therefore have a gaping hole in their team for a deep playmaker. Doesn’t surprise me that Wharton is linked, but that’s all it is, it isn’t happening yet at least.
When/if we sell MacAllister then we will be in the same situation. I don’t see room for another midfielder until someone leaves.
Right wing is our gaping hole and Diomande is almost certain to fill it. I’d say then RB is next but seems that isn’t being looked at so much.
If Gakpo goes, and it seems he will if a good offer comes in, then I think we replace him with Barcola.
CB I’m not sure. I know everyone on here will say can’t rely on Gomez, Virgil is old, the other two are young etc but we do have 4 players for 2 positions. We certainly won’t be buying Schlotterbeck this summer now. I’m guessing if a shortlisted player becomes attainable then it will be looked at.
