Klopp just had a talk to Wirtz, I’m not worried about him, he is one of the best players in Europe. Just mismanaged last season, we had reports of Slot simple telling him not to play his game cause he thought Wirtz can’t play. Destroyed his confidence.

Wirtz was bought for £100mil with £16mil in add ons linked to winning the league and CL, amongst other things.

He was badly used last year.

Let’s see how he gets on this year.

Ginger I genuinely believe the only two games that could have worse to start with than Newcastle would be City and Arsenal away. It was so hostile, you all know what the crowd can do for the players, when they get their adrenaline pumping. We had 16 blocked shots against them.

The worst thing Carra can do is criticize every player like he was any good, he scored more own goals than goals. He was toxic as a player and alienated half the signings we signed during his time at the club as a bully. One of the very worst vice captains we have ever had!

He is being bought right now because he is bankrupt, he has a nice interview with Iraola a few days ago or last week and then goes on the attack as soon as he is threatened for more money.

I can´t really see the difference in personality between him and Giggs, except Giggs shagged his brothers wife and Carra spat at underage girl.

We all know the squad is thin but the issue with thr midfield pair, which was present last season and again vs Newcastle, can surely be coached. Gravenberch showed in the title winning season that he can and should stay back, receive and play simple balls to those ahead of him. Szoboszlai can still get forward but needs to do much better. Rein that both back a bit.

Only one game and Iraola isn’t an idiot, I’m sure he will address this on the pitch. If not then it’s rinse and repeat from last season just with a bit more entertainment and attacking intent, we’ll still be too soft through the middle for a fast transition.

Would prefer a more dedicated defensive midfielder but that means one of Gravenberch (most likely) or Szoboszlai become a rotation option and more often benched next to MacAllister if he stays. If that happens it does ask the question why we are paying 280k for a rotation player.

To come good. He is obviously a confidence player so maybe some crowd support would help? Constant sh*te from ex players certainly doesn’t. Already I am more excited about watching LFC games this season. Up the reds!

redwarrior, I’ve already asked this question several times this year, how on earth can an underwhelming, average Wirtz cost over 3 times the amount of Cherki?

And likewise how can João Pedro and Gyökeres cost half the price of Isak, yet both are just as productive, or even more productive, than Isak in the Premier League?

Richard Hughes has got a lot to answer for, losing his head with the club’s money.

Song man, the money
Can be frustrating but it’s not worth worrying about value for money. We want the right players with the right attitude for the long term. I’d still have Wirtz over Cherki and City are probably paying him £400k a week
