I think a lot depends on villa, JM. if they can hold onto a champions league place then it’ll be Chelsea, liverpool, Brentford and us for the 2 remaining, which will be a tough ask.
absolutely delighted by the injury time goal for wolves. when Jesus came to the club he changed the belief, when rice came to the club he changed the control. but arteta has now gone from that brief spell of playing great football with jesus up front to the ‘1 point is as good as 3’ football that he has got them playing now. persisting with the new lad up front when he is just piss poor as a footballer is also a bad decision. in great teams you cannot shackle your players, you need to let them play.

The only reason Wolves drew that game was because of an uncharacteristic balls up between Raya and Gabriel. It was an Onana style fuck up. Arteta can’t legislate for that. That said it’ll be interesting how they approach the remaining games. If he continues with the safety first approach then they’ll blow it and City will the league.

I just think we’ve a number of away games left that will require us to win dirty happy, and I just don’t think we have the players to do that. Hope I’m wrong obviously. On your point about City, many may have thought it, we’ll never know, but I said it mate. Again, hope I’m wrong because rather Arsenal than City. That said, every cloud has a silver lining, and to see the “North London forever…” brigade crying into their flat pint of Fullers will be fucking lovely.

Agree bob, Villa actually might end up struggling for a CL slot. Looking at Liverpool’s fixtures and their renewed confidence, they’re a shoe in for me, along with Arse and City of course. I think the other two slots are between Villa, us and Chelsea, who also have some tricky fixtures btw.

City are far from perfect themselves, don’t forget they threw away a two goal lead against Thomas Frank’s Spurs team only recently, and if as expected Rodri gets the sort of ban he deserves to get for basically saying that referee’s were all corrupt then that could be pivotal as well. It’s like I said recently, every team is going to drop points you don’t expect them to drop especially when the fixtures come thick and fast, which is one of the reasons I fully expect Villa to come right back into the pack with us, Liverpool and Chelsea. No other fixture distractions is the one clear advantage that we have got, and that’s why a win at Everton on Monday night is really vital now.

I did say complacency would be our undoing against WestHam and the same will continue to happen because some of these players only give absolute 💯 especially the media is against them. We shouldn’t even be within touching distance of either Chelsea and Liverpool because they play cup Competitions and the Champions league and we are never catching up to Villa.
It’s just really baffling that each season we always seem to have the same motivational issues against the lesser teams regardless of the players we have.

We’re only 5 points behind Villa mate and I suspect they may be on the cusp of a wobble. And they have to come to us. Don’t get me wrong, I think we’ll fuck it up, but the gap between us and them is not insurmountable.

All of the teams in the top 6 have their own problems. It will all go down to the wire. If we can’t win then not losing is the name of the game for us now over the next few weeks.

Chelsea (A)
Brentford (H)

Sunderland (A)
Forest (H)
Brighton (A)Those home games are going to be massive. Wouldn’t fancy us away at Chelsea or Sunderland to be honest. But if we had to go to Brighton on the last day and win to get CL football i’d be relatively confident. Brighton have fallen off a cliff the last month or so. We might get 11 points from those 6 games and then go into the last game of the season needing something. Nice to actually be in the hunt for something as opposed to 15th in the fucking league isn’t it!

Shit results for Villa and Chelsea today! Chelsea actually should have lost, huge miss at the end for Burnley. Hopefully Forest take points off Liverpool tomorrow which gives us a tiny bit of breathing space then if we can beat Everton.
