Dee, I think the Curtis Jones move to Juventus just highlights the difference in valuation between players moving between premier league clubs as opposed to a different league. No way Liverpool would sell him to a premier league rival for £30 million in this current market.

@Diggy Forest were reported to offering 40M but his preference was to move to Inter Milan because of Champions league.
@Happy i used that analogy because even though City and Chelsea are cheaters but that doesn’t mean they aren’t shrewd negotiators… heck Chelsea sold us Juan Mata and Mount while making decent profits. So when everyone complains that every of their deals are dodgy eventually that will cease to be believable in itself. Just like Newcastle selling Tonalo and Guimaraes for 168m and effectively replacing them for 70M.
Like i said every other club does good business except us.

Time’s have changed, JM. I enjoy your posts by the way – and it’s a shame to see United fall this far. Carrick isn’t the answer, United need a manager with real track record and not a former player who bounces in and gets a few good results. His transfer business has been poor.
Dee – say what you want about City, but Chelsea’s management seem to have the moneyball and financial sustainability rules hacked, and fines are anticipated and priced in. I don’t like this aspect of the modern game but it is what it is. FIFA, UEFA and even the FA are corrupt as hell.

The fees being paid for transfers between PL clubs is fucking ridiculous. The PL transfer market in general is insanity and unsustainable. It’s going to end up doing the league in longer term. Barcola £125M, Rogers £117M, Anderson £115M & Tonali £100M. Zero value in any of those deals. And to think the likes of Palmer went for £50M a few seasons ago. Madness

50m for Delap seems high on the face of things, largely because he was bought for 30m. However 30m was a relegation release clause figure, which was why a number of clubs were circling at the time; otherwise Ipswich would have demanded a higher fee.
Playing up top for a club like Chelsea where the opposition set up to frustrate was a step too far for him at this stage of his career, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets into double figures for Forest this season.

@N1xer – Fooball has become a massive turnoff for me these days mate because the game is just eating itself with all this ridiculous money being paid in transfer fees and wages for bang average players. Then we’ve got far too many of the players themselves, who the minute they get their first big contract they surround themselves with assorted wankers and sycophants who continually blow smoke up their arses to make them believe that they’re somehow bigger than the entire game itself, it boils my fucking piss.
We’ve seen it far too often at OT ourselves with embarrassing cunts like Lingard, Pogba, Martial, Greenwood, Rashford and Garnacho and it’s only going to get worse whilst all this money is sloshing around. It’s an absolute disgrace that an averagely talented fucktard like Rashford can ‘earn’ as much in a week as it would take a nurse working unsociable hours saving people’s lives in the NHS around a decade to receive.
Added to all that, you’ve got horrible owners like Glineos fleecing the fans on ticket prices making it all but impossible for a normal working guy to be able to afford tickets for himself and his family like they could in the past._____________________________

Blacky, absolutely bang on. What’s also made it worse was the dividing up of the television deals. Unfortunately it’s only going to get worse. I do think there will come a time when fans will eventually say enough is enough. It has crossed my mind especially to cancel Sky and TNT but the problem is I know after about a month I will think bollocks fancy watching the game.
