Sheik Jassim is hardly a private investor with no connection to oil or the rulers and laws of the country. To try and spin it any other way to be “better” then city, Newcastle or psg is spurious at best

P.S. I said nothing about his connections to oil. My suggestion is that there’s no evidence this would be state ownership which is something I absolutely want to avoid at all costs, given the choice.

Well, his Dad used to be the Emir… don’t know enouvh onw way of the the other, but it’s a big leap to suggest its a purely “private” investment from a “private” investor… when that investor was third in line to the throne (at one stage)…
I would specualte it’s exactly the same people behind it as PSG, but the paperwork will say otherwise.

P.S Chucky. That’s not correct re his Dad. Apparently, that’s how it was initially reported but journalists were mixing him up with someone else with a very similar name. His Dad was the Prime Minister about 10 years ago, not the Emir. I don’t think this is the same ones who own PSG and want to get it at Spurs.
I remain very sceptical regardless.

Stop me if I am wrong here lafs but I just listened to Neville’s podcast and he is saying the Qatari model is the best fit. Didbt Neville go mental about the wc being held over there and had spoken out bigtime about human rights etc ? I love listening to Neville why didbt he mention any of this in his podcast? Is he accepting state owned Qatari owners now?
Again I could have picked this up totally wrong but he’s not being outspoken about Qatari owners when few months ago he was going mad about the treatment of their own people?

No idea Sean. Will have a listen. Probably a massive hypocrite though like the majority of them are. Which podcast is it? I can only assume he’s judging the Qatari deal on the alleged fact that it’s a private investor but, as I say, haven’t listened to it.

Ah it’s real simple Sean. Man Utd have had to stand by and watch clubs like Man City, PSG and Newcastle become heavily backed with seemingly infinite funds, which is completely unfair on them, and them alone.
As FFP isn’t doing it’s job of preserving their status as the world’s biggest club, they need to supplant them with even richer owners. Any possible links to violations of human rights are simply insignificant compared to the importance of restoring their rule over the PL and then the world.

😁 fair answer. Things looking on the up now though. Liverpool seemingly given up now on selling though after little interest in buying them for what FSG wanted. Crazy how fans of both clubs have been pining for state ownership. It really has divided both fanbases. Spurs too after the Qataris were after them.

For what it’s worth I really like FSG. I just hope they aren’t losing sight of what you need put in to get success. The infrastructure is already there for the most part. Need to get the backroom in order though re the transfer side and almost as importantly, the medical side ie club doctor.
I am hoping and praying the glazers say no offers met their valuation though and sit tight, just to bring my post back round on topic.
