11th April 2026 at 8:26 pm #243518I don´t think there is one personal insult from me on this forum actually, except one where I liken Songman to Slot and that is up for debate what I meant. I might have called Rob a bastard but that would be a term of endearment by now between us.
So what grudge are you carrying, why carry the hate? Why not talk about football instead of insulting people! Cause I can easily trade back but it is saturday and I don´t wanna spend my time here arguing with you like a lonely miserable childish idiot.

11th April 2026 at 8:40 pm #243519Peope get hung up on “on the left wing”. What does that mean these days? Just because Gakpo plays there a certain way, or Rio, doesnt mean another player cannot play there a different way, in a different system, or even a different coach. And we could of course not even play with wide attackers at all, but the no 11 and 7 spots go to different roles, like I dunno, two no 10s behind a striker, or one no 10 and one goes to another striker.
If we liken Wirtz to Coutinho, Phil played as a no 10 under Rodgers but as the left sided attacker in a front three under Klopp. Just happened to be a left sided attacker who then came inside to mainly operate as a no 10. Stats wise, because we all love a good stat on here, the split between no 10 and LW is almost 50/50 for his time at Anfield.
But for Leverkusen he played in a dual no 10 system, on the left side of the two with a free role. I watched them a fair bit, and in particular Wirtz as he was a local lad to where I was living at the time, so interest was high.

11th April 2026 at 9:31 pm #243524Salah now has something like 18 G/A for the season all comps.
For any other wide attacker he’d be getting praised but it’s not at his usual standards.Maybe only Semenyo doing better, and that’s been boosted by joining City.

11th April 2026 at 10:51 pm #243527One thing I will openly add and there’s never any fake with me is ‘false number 9’. That’s not Firmino, nor anybody. Anybody actually watch Liverpool 1980s, Early 1990s, 1990s when Manchester United they were Ready???
False This, False That. There is no False. Florian Wirtz One Hundred and Twenty Plus Million Pounds means Expectations.
Phillipe Coutinho: This BOY was IMMENSE BIG TIME

12th April 2026 at 12:17 am #243529I mentioned a coin tosh between Mac and Gravy, nobody else harry, I would argue that Rio deserves a start in our next game over Ekitike on form but I don´t mind Ekitike there. I wrote a coin tosh between Mac and Gravy.
I just don´t want to see Gakpo leading the line in any way. I mentioned a coin tosh between Mac and Gravy because they have both been playing like shit all season and I could not care less about who features but it has to be one of them.
BTW you know how a comma works right? “A comma is a punctuation mark used in writing to separate parts of a sentence and make the meaning clearer.” I know English is not my first language but that comma rule still applies in basically every language. Or am I wrong?
Cause I mentioned 12 players in total or actually 13 almost cause it´s not for certain who starts like I stated, so that implies two goalkeepers that could start, that would be the almost 13. The twelfth would be either Mac or Gravy as implied by the comma.

12th April 2026 at 12:47 am #2435303ps I quite liked how Wirtz was connecting everyone in the first half, we kind a put on the breaks in the 2nd half so I don´t wanna judge the 2nd half too much.
It was another form of the 442 Slot has been experimenting with, I think it was you who asked how it could work with wide forwards and this is how.
Jones and Szoboszlai worked really well together in the first half in the middle, they did not make many runs into the box just shuffled possession around like they needed to do. Most of our action was happening out wide with both Robbo and Frimpong making nuisance of themselves.
Robbo in particular was influential by commanding Rio around, just like in the Wolves game in the cup, he bossed him around off the ball but gave him freedom to do his own stuff when on the ball.
I thought our play went down when Gravy got introduced for Jones, cause Jones was being really influential in the first half until he went down.
Marma also had a fine game but you can notice how uncomfortable he is on his right foot, he was yelling at Robbo or someone at a time for passing onto his right foot, he also struggled with the clearance that followed.
I quite like this formation, I can see bigger benefits of playing like this instead of a 442 diamond, the only fault I can find in our performance was that one ball that got to Gakpo in a advanced position. His timing was so off it caught his backside.
It would also be a great benefit if we could switch between the two 442 we have been seeing. Go wide when needed, go through the middle when needed.
We might see more of this before the season ends, with Wirtz in the hole connecting everyone together, he linked up with everyone tonight and he was brought in to be that connector or playmaker.
I kind a think Ekitike has just gotten an abnormal amount of gametime because of injuries, he has done well but he is beat by now, he is not our main striker and can´t claim it when we have a striker like Isak on our hands.
I can´t emphasize how much I loved that moment when Gakpo did not pass him the ball and he screamed out of frustration for the ball with both his hands pointing out how easy the goal would have been!
Every great chemistry starts with a moment like this and either you are destroyed by it or you succeed, for example when Mane cried out to Salah for not passing the ball!
What happened next was a season of perfect balance for our three forwards, Salah scored 24, Mane scored 23 and I think Bobby scored 18 or something. Mane and Salah also had equal assists or there about but Bobby for succeeded them there.
I saw a player demanding the ball in front of the goal tonight and it gave me a little bit of believe, cause I´ve not seen that happening this season.
Suarez and Sturridge used to argue like Tom & Jerry on the field but they were a duo, the provided for each other because the demanded more of each other when either one failed and tonight was the first game this season I´ve seen the front line do that and it was Isak!
Rio and Salah had great games but this moment could make our season, look at Gakpo reaction after being yelled at, he went left foot every time without hesitation after that chance. Trying to provide the cross for Isak to make amends.
I think Gakpo has been playing shit this season because Robbo is not there screaming at him to get into position or actually press! Rio and Robbo got greater chemistry for some reason than Kerkez and Gakpo despite playing 25% of their minutes.
If we get a greedy demanding center forward who demands the ball we might stand a chance. Someone that can actually boss that box around, cause he has pace about him, he is tall and strong on the ball. He can hold up the ball and demands the ball back in return.
There is such a difference between a striker that wants the ball and demands the ball. Rant out…

12th April 2026 at 4:53 am #243532Someone mentioned this was liverpools best performance of the season… i disagree with that. However really happy with the victory.
Positives: i thought our wingers were both phenomenal… rio with a goal and generally unplayable. Salah also got a goal and was a threat all game, linking well with frimpong and co. I thought konate was fierce in the tackle and won a few duals in the midfield. The team generally played well considering our travels midweek, not to mention whats more the come on Tuesday. 3 points and players rested.
Negatives: still giving the opposition big chances… the big one being smith-rowe. We also gave the initiative to fulham in the second half. I thought gakpo was poor, wirtz wasnt exactly brilliant either.

12th April 2026 at 6:36 am #243533I thought we were ok, not brilliant. Fulham looked pretty toothless in front of goal and a better team could have come away with at least a point as they were making chances. Two nice goals however but we didn’t really put them under sustained pressure, although maybe we had another gear to go up if needed and with PSG coming can understand not going full throttle.
Bingo agree that the control lessened when Grav came on. Last season his role was defined, now I’m not sure what he’s supposed to do. He mentions he likes to be more forward but he’s pretty poor in the final 3rd. I wish we had a good quality DM that Slot would actually play and maybe that frees Grav up to do his thing better.
Not sure that was a 442 however. A lot of time a 4231 will turn into a 442 when out of possesion in a mid block.

12th April 2026 at 8:21 am #243534`Ye i didnt think we were great. Difference was we scored two excellent goals. Two great finishes. Nothing has changed for me
Im becoming concerned about writz. We can talk tactics all day but his little flicks arent enough. Salah was clean through and writz hits itoff his head. It was a simple ball and hrough. Hes a 116 m pound player. Yes the team needs shite but Couthino shone in a shite rodgers team before klopp took over. He doesnt do enough in games. He was a ten yday. Hes given freedom most of the time
Im really hoping to see the real deal next season. He can under hit his passes sometimes. He has to be in around the box for his best work.

12th April 2026 at 12:18 pm #243538Precisely Sean. Essentially outside your main Strikers, you need have players with GOALS in their Locker. Dribbling Skills, good range of passing and the ability to play the ball into the path of the Striker so he’s in a position to put the ball in the Net.
I like Wirtz, and I genuinely have high hopes for him for next season, but admittedly, the 120 Million or whatever it is we paid for him I must say will show up on people’s minds and in nature criticism will follow.

12th April 2026 at 12:20 pm #243539You never know in Football, but I can’t see United folding to Leeds at Old Trafford Tomorrow Night. I do see however Forest being able to stop Villa in their tracks this afternoon. They are 2 points ahead of us currently so any dropped points gives us something to go for.

12th April 2026 at 2:42 pm #243540Sean…
I reckon Wirtz will start to shine when Isak starts in the first eleven, I love Ekitike but he is far from the finished product, he lacks the ability to hold up the ball and he is not quite explosive or strong enough either.
Rio and Wirtz connected a lot of times, Wirtz was also providing Salah inside the box, few passes as well to Gakpo but Gakpo lacks the killer touch to be up front. I liked how he pressed and lead the line off the ball but as soon we get on the ball his timing goes off.
We´ve been lacking that killer instinct up front all season, nobody demands the ball, nobody has the aura to do it.
I´m not worried about Wirtz at all, I kind a had a feeling he might take the same time as Modric to adapt to the league and we keep him in that hole as a conductor I can see us maybe going on a small run to make sure we finish fifth.
Salah was even smiling again and I think the lads were happy with the 2-0 at halftime, that´s why I don´t really wanna judge our performance that much in the 2nd half cause I think the lads did not wanna risk anything before the 2nd leg against PSG but I was disappointed with Gravy.
Cause it surprised me to see how much control Jones and Szoboszlai had in the first half, considering how far up Wirtz was playing. They had to control that midfield box basically on their own and until Jones limped off they were succeeding.
Frimpong and Robbo were excellent as well, I´m pretty sure that most of our good games this season have been when Robbo has been playing, our best performances in the Champions League, The league and cups.
Then Asian, I stated that this was our best performance this year, not of the season but it might be close. I think we went on a run of 25 games where we did not score in the first half or just broke that run in the league. I don´t remember us scoring two goals in the first half since the start of the season where we fluked our way through the first 5 games.

12th April 2026 at 5:51 pm #243549Both Forest and City (by the looks of the current score of 2-0 at the Bridge) have given us the helping hand we need. We should go for 4th to at least be able to attract better players that we need in the Summer.
If we don’t achieve this then we need a change.
