If jorginho out along with kante and kovacic we have an issue in centre mid. I would play chalobah alongside Ruben , he has played a lot of games at defensive mid.

Maybe bring azpi into right centre back presuming that silva was due rotation for christensen for midweek game too.

    Won’t miss werner โ˜บ

If James is out then maybe azpi there with alonso left but we may need azpi in back 3 so would have no issues with CHO/pulisic at RWB fir the odd game considering the opponent.

Thomas Tuchel could turn to Callum Hudson-Odoi to fill in for injured Ben Chilwell

Already Christensen is replaceable at Chelsea as we have Chalobah at the club who is better in defending although Christensen is better on the ball. If God forbid Christensen runs down his contract, then we have ready made replacement in his place. Best option is for him to sign the contract and keep his position. If he is changing his mind, let him say i want leave, so that the club can concentrate looking for his replacement andlet him concentrate finding a club that meets his demands. As for Rudiger, i think the club need to draw this unde the line. Either he needs to declare his preference and the club concentrates on integrating his replacement.

Injuries and the need to rotate with so many games sees 6 changes from Sunday:

    16Mendy
    14Chalobah
    4Christensen
    2Rรผdiger
    28Azpilicueta
    12Loftus-Cheek
    17Saรบl
    3Alonso
    10Pulisic
    19Mount
    29Havertz

Hopefully weโ€™ve got enough for the win.๐Ÿคž Thereโ€™s a strong bench if needed.

The only one i’m worried about is Saul. I hole he performs well as we may need him from now and then due to the number of injuries we have in midfield.

Big game for saul to show his experience alongside Ruben.

    Like the front 3.

Christensen starting is a surprise considering tuchels comments but maybe tuchels comments were meant to motivate and focus christensen ahead of the game.

Well, if there is anyone who doubted Jorginho’s importance to tgis Chelsea team, tonight they got the answer. He is the most important player in our system. But there are others who are important to the system. Ben Chilwell is also equally important, since his injury we are missing his output from the left and he was solid defensively.

Sadly Azpi can no longer do the job of a wingback, so we need to find a back up to Reece James.tonight’s game have also shown how important Silva is to our defence, he has been commanding the back line.

Anyway, it was a 3 hard earned points, and i was pleased for Mount and Ziyech, they needed those goals, and i hope their season kicks off from here. I would like to see Lukaku start against West Ham. Hopefully, Jorginho, Reece James and Kante will be available for this injury. The injury to Chalobah has also been a blow as the lad has been playing nice football.

True YB, James and chilwell been massive for us this season and tonight we were without both.

I agree about jorginho 100% he is vital to have to dictate pace whether it’s kante or kovacic alongside him and tonight we were without all 3.

Ruben did his best and can’t complain but he not a natural 6, he has shown promise in this position alongside jorginho but lost without him. Saul was bloody awful once again, I said before the game we should start chalobah in middle with Ruben, shame he got injured so soon after getting moved to midfield.

Like you say hopefully we get a few of the key players back for west ham and it will be needed.

On Sunday Tuchel was happy with the performance but not the result it will be the reverse tonight.

We dug that win out but the changes a number enforced and over a period of time too has unsettled the fluidity of the team especially in central midfield.

No good crying about injuries and overall we’ve coped with them well hopefully one or two will be back and available v West Ham they’ll be more than needed for that game.

“The boss made no excuses in his assessment of our 2-1 win over Watford, but either way he will leave with a quiet satisfaction his team still found a way to emerge victorious despite falling well short of our usual high standards.

โ€˜We were very sloppy,โ€™ said Tuchel.

โ€˜It was a very unusual performance from us. We were not ready. Iโ€™m involved in that, I have to get the team ready and prepare them for whatโ€™s coming. For the first time we were completely underperforming as a team. We did not cope well with the first balls, the pressure, the second balls.

โ€˜Itโ€™s one thing to win or lose challenges, but we did not even find them. We had the chance to speak about it in the break, and again at half-time. We tried to give easy messages because it was obvious we struggled in the build-up. We needed to do the basics better and change the mentality.

โ€˜We tried. I donโ€™t think I was too critical with the players, just analytical. We are also critical with ourselves. We can admit we were lucky to win this game. I wonโ€™t focus long on this match because we play again on Saturday.

โ€˜There are some reasons it wasnโ€™t easy. Watford played with a lot of enthusiasm and we struggled with the basics. We are in this together and we got a lucky win today. We stole three points.โ€™

Saul started his second Premier League game and for a second time was withdrawn at half-time. He was among a number of Blues who had struggled to get to grips with Watfordโ€™s front-foot approach in the opening 45 minutes, and Tuchel explained why he came off.

โ€˜He was on a yellow card. We had two options, [the other was to] take Marcos off and put Saul as a wing-back. I had this in my mind before the game if something happened to Marcos, but it wasnโ€™t the right match to try new positions.

โ€˜It was him [who went off] to change the shape a little bit and have Thiago on the pitch with the quality of organising, and Trevoh in the six who is more physical. Unfortunately Trevoh injured himself so we ended up with Ruben in the single six. It was a tactical decision and we go on from here.”

We have had a hard luck recently, we are losing the versitle players like James and Chalobah. I hope Kante will return on Saturday and Jorginho is fine. I would be anxious to know how much Chalobah will be out.

Assuming and Kante, James and Jorginho return, and no fresh injuries are reported, then it will be a toss up between Azpi and Christensen for the right centre back role. And Lukaku to replace Havertz, Ziyech to replace Pulisic as well.

Frank on Chelsea transfers during his tenure at Chelsea:

“I would have conversations with Marina regularly. Me and Pete (Cech) were close. I had the communication. The owner (makes the calls). We had conversations about transfers, I was never out the loop.”

I will be watching tomorrow’s Tuchel press conference with nervousness. Our injury list is evergrowing. Chilwell, Chalobah, Jorginho, James, Kante, Kovacic are all key first team players whom any team would feel their absence. And some pundits were questioning Chelsea’s performance ladt night. And Azpi and Alonso haven’t played a game for weeks and they weren’t match sharp, add that Mount, Pulisic and Lukaku has just returned from injury. But we still managed to remain compatitve until now? I have to say we have one hell of manager. Whether we win or not this season, we are heading in the right direction.
