Perhaps the sell-on clause is an indication of changing strategy at United? I can’t remember a club ever putting a sell-on clause on a player they’ve sold us before. So maybe we are starting to take the player exit side of transfers more seriously. Which could be why we aren’t spending £100m or £85m on players this summer.
