Tonali doesn’t seem to be able to dominate the midfield for Newcastle even with Guimaraes and Joelinton beside him happy, let alone on his own.
Not sure who I’d have gone for mate, but definitely three, including two very athletic, quick, combative defensive types with a more expansive third.
I’m just not sure we should be looking at mid to later 20s, comfortable, famous, already made it type players. Young, ambitious, hungry, relatively inexpensive with everything to prove types that will blossom into top players are the type we should be after. I want to be excited by the incomings mate and Tonali and Ederson doesn’t excite me.
