If the club are basically saying that Slot needs certain players to deliver then it:
1) begs the question why such players weren’t brought in last summer? And
2) is a concession that he is not a top coach. Top coaches deliver even in difficult circumstances. It’s like when you have a so-called world class player who is said to be not delivering because they’re not being played in the right position or in the right system. If such a player can only deliver under a very narrow set of conditions then they ain’t world class.
However, better players can still make a difference though before everyone jumps on me yes I know the coaching is the fundamental problem. We’ll just have to hope for the best if Slot is staying.
