And it´s not like Alonso is the only option available right now, Zidane is probably not gonna show up but Joachim Löw is available and I would fully trust him to guide us out through the season, Xavi is also available and he has expressed interest in moving to the premier league but he does not want to have DOF above him when it comes to transfer and I would actually give him a chance as well. He wants to manage in England because of passion of the game and then what better place to do it than Anfield.
I would put him above Alonso actually on football merits but Alonso understands the club, both guys have a pretty defined way of playing and not afraid to express that so I would argue both would fit us.
Gerrard would do a better job I think than Slot, he might not be the biggest football brain on the planet but he understands our way of football and we would immediately get back to our roots. I doubt Gerrard would stand in Ramsay´s way for example. He might not be the best option we have available but he is the only specialized rightback we have for cover right now.
Slot is so disrespectful when it comes to the shape of the team, he will move any player between position rather than trusting a junior player.
There is not a single prospect that gets the gaming time they deserve, considering our injuries, the get loaned out or sold or starved out of football. While we lose our shape every game!
