I think he will get the sack after the Quarabag game, then Edwards and Hughes should be held accountable as well.
Like we need a new manager in, someone that can guide the recruitment as there is no clear vision around the club anymore.
I was even reading some report about Wirtz and Alonso this season, Xabi reached out to Wirtz this season and gave him some nice advice about where to improve his game.
I think the lads are talking about Alonso and with most of them excited about the possibility, I don´t see any of the lads backing Slot right now, we can see arguments out there on the pitch with players seeking advice from him but nothing happens.
You could see the whole team refusing to kick out the ball or giving away a soft foul while Gomez was injured and Endo waiting on the line. They just refused to do what Slot asked them to do, with Van Dijk stating he thought they were in control.
Slot has no authority at the club, he does not pick what players are bought or sold. That is Edwards and Hughes who have been wheeling and dealing. Selling Quansah, Diaz and Elliott is one of the most stupid decisions the club has done in a long time. Quansah would likely have about 10 games this season, Diaz should have started every game for us this season, Elliott would provide us with much needed backup in a number of positions and likely have around 10 games.
I got my hopes up that the club has already talked to Alonso and that he has given them a answer, he just needs about a week or so to sort out his affairs in Spain. He got a family, kids in school, he needs to discuss this with his wife but I think it will get sorted out soon.
I just doubt that our top targets want to work under this regime, I think it has been proven that neither Edwards or Hughes know anything about team building, great scouts, they can certainly find a rough diamond of a player but they lack the oversight to oversee a new team being built. They are too willing to sacrifice a team player for a new one.
