Really don’t understand what you’re expecting other posters to say here, cyber chum, it’s not like we’re going to start cheering for Pool, is it?
You had a bad week, didums, look at us YooUtd/Spuds fans, we’ve had a bad season and would gladly swap places with you in a heartbeat…

Yeah, Sweedy, I don’t think it was a coincidence Poncho’s contract runs out the same time as Angie’s (barring P45’s!)….
A glourious return next season with Harry (who should have some pots on his mantel piece by then!), and the next crop of decent youngsters (Bergvall & Grey in particular, both going to be top, top players!) and still a relatively young squad (reckon Cuti is going to bugger off before then but Micky “Hamstrings” will still be there with a bit of luck, and then this young lad tearing up the Belguim league is meant to be as tasty as hell!)…
Year after next year will be our year… 😉

Sad to say it, but I reckon you’re right, Sweedy, a rap on the knuckles and a donation to the FA “posh-lunch-fund”…
Worst thing about it all will be having to listen to Liam “Fuckwit” Gallagher bitching about “justice being served”…

Been a few years since I’ve felt this deflated this early in the season… overall, it’s been a disaster for us Spuds… the injury crisis certainly didn’t help, but neither did some of Angie’s “decisions” either… I think the only thing keeping him in a job is the Europa League, and the only thing keeping him in a job next season will be winning the bloody thing…
I see Poncho is already making noises about coming home, and considering the squad we currently have, I wouldn’t be too upset about that at all, the ending of his last term in the dugout was perhaps the fall-out from the aggrevation of moving stadiums combined with a lack of funds, issues which seem to have been dealt with now…
Although I’m also liking the idea of pinching the fella at Bournemouth… race between those two as far as I’m concerned… not at all fussed about Silva or Frank, and don’t know enough about that fella from the German league to have an opinion.

Opinions are like Buffy’s, everybody’s got one locked up in the gimp costume down in the basement…

Agree with Sweedy, hard to cheer when you don’t have a dog in the race… fell asleep during the Spuds game yesterday… watched a bit of the Final, turned it over when the ejaculating pair of Ant & Dec filled my screen…enough to put anybody off thier tea, I can tell you.

And that was that… I guess it’s only mid-week games worth getting excited about…

Squeaked through in a funny game, the AK goal coming from a lucky bounce, as did our first, our third goal being a thing of beauty (pity those type of goals only happen about every 4 games!), AK missing some decent chances throughout the 90 but with Spuds in control for most of the game…
Happy to go through but feel we need to step it up a lot more if we want to go much further…

11th March 2025 at 12:53 pm in reply to: Champions League New Format and First Phase Matches #218846I see one of the daily rags is making a big song and dance about Poll NEVER losing a 2-legged Euro tie after winning the first leg…. 39 and counting…
So, that’s that jinxed!!! 🙂

10th March 2025 at 12:51 pm in reply to: Gameweek 28 – Weekend Football – All Plain Sailing? #218842My Monster Munch is on that Spaibish mob, the ones that play in the Spurs kit…. the only reason the bookies might have Pool down as favourites is too simply “protect” the balance sheet due to all the optimistic pool fans sticking their giros on it… 🙂

10th March 2025 at 12:29 pm in reply to: Gameweek 28 – Weekend Football – All Plain Sailing? #218840Next season predictions…
For Pool, all depends on who goes, if all three of TAA, Mo & DVD bugger off, they’re going to drop back…
Goonies, if they spunked everything on Isak (can see that happening), they’ll be favorites.
Forest, with CL cash and some smart buys, still in with a shout of CL places…
Jammy Todgers, probably spend another 300 million, but all about keeping hold of Palmer…
115… going to need to spend anoter boatful to finish Top4, Pepe’s biggest managerial challenge!!
Brighton, Villa & Bournemouth… be there or there abouts, they’ll sell some players, buy some players, can’t see any of them improving with regards to leagur position…
Spuds/YooUtd… proper Jekyll & Hyde clubs… YooUtd are rumored to be in FFP trouble, need to sell before they can buy, can they sell enough to buy enough?? And Spuds??? Crystal Ball for that one, most likely a new manager who will for sure want some new players… certainly have a quality youngsters coming through but I think one or two “veterans” are needed… and by all accounts have the cash to splash!! Could suddenly appear Top3… could still finish 11th… 🙂

(Unless you really think their is a country called Spaib, in which case, my special little friend, cyber hugs and kisses!)

And before anybody says Halland for the 115, I’d take Agureo any day of the week over him.

I mentioned it some time back, but I read an interesting article which was suggesting that, other than Pool, there isn’t a side in the Prem which contains many, if any, of their “all-time” Premiership 11 players… as you say, what members of the current Goonie, YooUtd, Spuds, 115, even the Bone-Saw-Boyz, would make their all-time Premiership 11?
Maybe Bruno from YooUtd? Maybe Sonny from Spuds (previous versions for sure, but not this seasons!)? Isak from Bone-Saw-Boyz? Can’t think of any from the Goonies or 115 teams…
Then you have Pool with Alison, DVD, Salah, TAA, Robertson all making a damn good shout to be in the Pool All-time 11….. that’s why they’re running away with it.

I would agree with your last comment, but I also think some credit needs to be given to the more “traditional” mid-table sides who have really stepped their game up over the last 2-3 seasons… a few top teams have “dipped”, for sure, but a lot of teams have also improved…
The title race was over 3 months ago… but I’m loving the fact that we’ve got about 7 teams fighting out for the CL and other Euro places… certainly one of the more entertaining seasons for me.

Bournemouth will be kicking themselves, they weren’t great, but how shite were Spurs? Two points thrown away but the Cherries…
Or you could argue they shot themselves in the foot, as Spuds gave them soooo many chances to run away with it… don’t know any more…
Now, YooUtd vs Goonies… please, several punch-ups, red cards, and other nonsense please….
