They were really hard done by yesterday.

The two fouls were pens. The first one by Young was similar to the Gordon penalty at Newcastle earlier. Young kicks Reyna, in this occasion Reyna didn’t move in front of the player as he was looking to clear the ball, so no idea how that wasn’t given.

Young also goes though Hudson-Odoi for the third pen shout. Again looks a clear pen.

The Young handball was very similar to AWB yesterday. But I don’t know where their arms should have been as they were both trying to get them behind their back and out of the way.

But you can’t give one and not the other. The inconsistency is going to kill VAR.

Only we could have thrown that match away after being 3 up.

All stemmed from Anthony cutting inside and going for a shot rather than playing Dalot in in the overlap. Crap shot and they go up the other end and score.

It makes no difference, you clearly shouldn’t be allowed to pay referees and then have those referees officiate your matches.

Fuck me, the blue nose twats complain that a ref from Manchester officiate Man Utd matches and then they go and pay PL refs to ref abroad and have no issue with them officiating their matches.

Mind you, we have a league where you can bypass the financial rules by selling a hotel or two to yourself, so nothing should come as a surprise.

AWB is a great RB but can’t play on the left as he offers no threat going forward. You could see him making runs and the midfield would just turn inside and pass to someone else as they didn’t trust his left foot.

I also think he will struggle in those tactics on the right as ETH likes the fullbacks to play in central midfield at times, and he just hasn’t got the technique to do so.

I think we are going for a backup striker rather than a £100m player. Isak would be the transfer budget blown and the Hojlund wouldn’t play, so money wasted there rather than seeing what he can do in a team that passes him the ball.

I think one of the issues he has it that there is no pace in the CB’s when maguire plays. So he can’t play a high line, which would reduce the space in midfield.

He likes a high press, with numbers, that plus the low defensive line means there is acres of space in midfield for teams to exploit.

I hope he gets a CB with pace in the summer, then he and Martinez can play a higher line.

Add in a LB with a left foot and things will be much better.

He also needs to get rid of a massive amount of deadwood, players who dont want to be there, players who are not good enough and bring in proper competition for places.

Rashford and Garnacho play for themselves and not the striker. It needs to end.

Sean, if they tried a bit more they would be ok, they just don’t seem to want to play, no urgency, no spirit today and no effort in tracking back.

You can’t defend that deep, with an attacking line that high and not put the effort in.

The handball could well have been given, I seem to recall the commentators telling us there is a much lower threshold in Europe when Eriksen accidentally touched the ball with a fingertip over in Munich at the start of the tournament.

Apparently the ref admitted he made a mistake in not awarding it, but Tuchel might have made that up.
