I think a ban is not enough of a punishment for breaching FFP. Say city get a ban from Europe, all that means is it’ll literally be impossible for anyone to compete with them in the EPL. Should be like Chuckster said or at least 50 mil max spend per season for 5 yrs. It needs to be a deterrent.

Agreed. There needs to be a points deduction. Now, I know what most are gonna say here, so before you all throw your hands up, I am not talking about this season, regards man city.

Points deduction and a foreign player limitation for serious, future FFP violations.

Personally I don’t agree with points deductions the PL is won or lost over 38 games on the field of play and points deductions just falsify the outcome.

Ye but nine you have to hurt these clubs.

It’s like racism. Stupid silly little fines do nothing.

Transfer bans, points deduction, limit spending etc

Hit the clubs hard if they are not playing by the rules

Sean, I get where you’re coming from but I just don’t think you can retrospectively change what’s happened on the field of play.

It won’t be any of the above and it certainly won’t be a points deduction now or in the future it’s UEFA’s rules that have been broken and it’s in UEFA competitions that any punishment must be served.

I also think UEFA are running scared of any legal challenges in the Courts to any major punishment too which could bring the roof down on FFP completely. But we’ll see.

Fair points nine but I’m talking about points reduction before the season starts etc.

Sean, I get that mate but City have broken UEFA’s rules so if guilty they have to be punished in a UEFA competition.

Like I say I don’t want to see titles decided by points deductions but it won’t be in this instance it has to be a punishment related to UEFA competitions.

“Milan banned from Europa League for one year after FFP breach. Milan has struck a deal with Uefa to serve a one-year ban from European football for breaching the governing body’s financial fair play rules, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) has confirmed.”
