He’s far too good for that league, as you say. In many ways, he’s in the best place for winning the CL though. PSG have the luxury of an easier league which none of the other elite clubs (Bayern maybe the closest thing) meaning they’ll be fresher and fitter than their European rivals in the CL.
Win the CL as their main man = Ballon D’or. It wouldn’t have looked as good for his image to be slugging it out with 5/6 other teams for the league title (had he come to PL).
